man, thats a scary thought, i can imagine a webhosting provider having clients upload big pictures, revise, etc. and end up costing them a few gigs a month of incoming trasit.... I hope austrailia lowers bandwidth prices soon for you guys, i've seen .home.com.au, so it must be in the process (because they must give cable users a few gigs), or so i'd hope, because the fact that you guys have to work with that, or pass those prices on to clients is just rediculous.

Over here, game server hosting is improssible... onling gaming in Australia is really bad. Servers often full and only some big ISP company can host the game servers and they don't give a **** to manage it, I was hosting 2 servers at pacific.net.au until they changed their 10 mbps unmetered plan to charge per meg at 10.8c per meg, which would cost more then AU$8000 per month for each server that host a few games inside it... pretty sad hey...
I'm still waiting for lower price, but I know that won't happen in near future... but maybe in 5-10 years.

In cases where data streams are both higher, yeah it is not such a good environment still within Australia. The current trend now though in hosting will see us compete very favourably with overseas hosting infrastructure, and good deals like the one Marts has advertised in this thread are only the beginning.
