The Dual Xeon server has three 160GB Drives, the 2.8GHz P4 has two 160GB Drives.

800MHz FSB means the Front Side Bus speed is 800MHz, whereas for example, the lower end P4 servers use 533MHz. This is the speed to access the memory, so the more the merrier.

As for Hyperthreading, that's a technology designed by Intel to provide a virtual second CPU to the operating system to improve multithreaded (multi-tasking) performance. As far as the OS is concerned, the server has two CPUs.

Both the higher FSB and the virtual CPU provide a nice performance improvement over the P4 2.4GHz server, in addition to the CPU being faster itself.

Couple things here-

I just ordered a server with Jose at TMS a few days ago and I must say everything went great. Just leave a msg on his AIM he will respond asap and he is helpful on whatever questions you have.

That is the test speed file he gave me. I believe that is he.net bandwidth rather than the premium (exact same bandwidth as the planet for +$10). He also has the option of going with yipes. IMO, his prices are low enough to just add the premium bandwidth upgrade for $10 to get the same links as the planet. That was my only surprise though.

ps. He said the server would be up the next day, it was up the same night and all ready to go. I believe that the user control that he gives you (remote reboot port, reverse dns control, stats, etc) are very nice. More than many other dedicated providers.

Just so everyone knows, you cant go wrong when dealing with Jose. I have had a server with him for 1 year on Nov. 1st. Top knotch support, uptime, and hardware.

Account cancelation;
"All requests for canceling accounts must be made in writing with at least 30 days notice but not more than 30 days prior written notice and sent to Tailor Made Servers"

This makes no sense to me...

And then some kind of waiver to ask for... does this cost extra?

And if I don't take CPanel, is there any type of admin software on there?

Thanks for pointing that out, it has been cleared up. We ask for 30 days written/faxed notice, although we're mostly flexible with that. A lot of customers seem to want to cancel days after their payment was due.

The only Control Panel we offer is Cpanel.

There would be no other type of control panel installed if you don't wish to have Cpanel installed/licensed.

Unfortunately no. We had an overstock of those, and the sale took care of that fairly quickly.

The next lucky order for the P4 server, will get a 300GB HDD instead of the listed 200GB.
