so far I have installed mysql with no problems. then I tried to install php and now my server wont connect any more.

I must have screwed up some where. I was searching this forum on how to install PHP and there are so many different versions.
How can I uninstall PHP? Or should I reinstall it over the
screwed up version? What are my options? Is there a clear and easy to follow instruction on how to install php?

Thanks in advance

I didn't install PHP on my machine, and yes, there does seem to be quite a few versions. *But* I'd unimstall it before attempting to put another version on. Start fresh :)

If you search for the PHP version you installed, you *should* see a directory with an uninstall file. In theory.

Just tried installing 4.04 on my own server and had all sorts of problems compiling it, in the end I gave up. I am also aware of security issues with 4.02, so at leat you know which ones to avoid. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.

4.04 apparently has compile problems galore with the latest versions of RedHat Linux - stick with 4.03PL1 for now.
