I suggest reading a lot of posts in this forum and in the Tuturials forum (link near the top of this page). You'll learn a lot, and you'll be able to ask more specific questions. :)

Agreed, on a quick note rearding advertising, your best bet would be web hosting directories, the best targeted traffic in my opinion.

It seems you've already started a company as per profile and that post.

My suggestion - don't start if you want easy money. Hosting is NOT an easy business.

I think first, you need to submit your hosting to some of search engine first. Then you can later ads your hosting plan in some forums or to your friends.
If you want to start a webhosting service, it's a lot of thing you need to prepare.
1. Choose a good webhosting company, that have good uptime and the price is not too good to be true otherwise the company will go down soon ^^. (not much profit ^^)
2. Setup your website program and design
3. Find bililng solution.
4. Support system :)
5. What else? Humm that what come in my mind so far.

Elix said is quite true, but it's depend on how are you going to market your hosting :) Is that unique or not ^^. And For sure hosting is Very High Competition Market :)
