Ok, as many of you know I am in love with my current DC. Well they just proved how much I love them...... even though we pay too much for rack fees and bandwidth, this just made up for it...

We had a server not responding to anything. Its one of our VPS servers too, so I was sweating a lil bit. Tried getting WHM, SSH, Virtuozzo's command console. Nothing would see it... So I called and ask for a physical hard reboot, thinking maybe it just need to be kicked.

They called right back. I mean right back (30 seconds), saying it appeared there was a hardware problem and they were gonna pull the server to investigate, but it was leaning towards a bad power supply.

Within 5 mins, got a call back saying it was a bad power supply, and they have replaced, and server would be re-racked in just a second.

Couple mins later got a call saying server was up, and all appeared to be good, asked if I could verify that Virtouzzo started fine, as they do not deal with sw-soft, and were unsure how to test.

Total down time from notification well under 10 minutes. We have been with other DCs that it took 10 mins to even get someone off their butt to go press the reset button, much less fix it. LOL

Would you care to tell us all who your current provider is?

We are with cavecreek.net. They are exspensive to most of you.

$800 per rack
$150 Meg BW ($100 at 5 Meg Commit)

But there are advantages. Entire Block of IPs reserved for us. As we add servers, or customers order dedicated IPs, there is no requesting the IP from them, we just assign, and then update tech support what IPs are assigned to what router port.

They provide with free cisco router for the rack with MRTG enabled, and also provide free monitoring of http, ftp, and mail ports. The reason the didnt see this box was down, cause they only monitor the main IPs of the box, and this a VPS, so the main IP doesnt have http, ftp or mail running on main IPs.

To us they are worth every penny we spend over the bargin colo places.

They also sell us servers at their cost, custom built servers, to our specs. and then provide the warranty to the boxes they sell, just as this one was today. This is the first hardware problem we have had out of 26 servers over the past few years.
