Ok, as many of you know I am in love with my current DC. Well they just proved how much I love them...... even though we pay too much for rack fees and bandwidth, this just made up for it...
We had a server not responding to anything. Its one of our VPS servers too, so I was sweating a lil bit. Tried getting WHM, SSH, Virtuozzo's command console. Nothing would see it... So I called and ask for a physical hard reboot, thinking maybe it just need to be kicked.
They called right back. I mean right back (30 seconds), saying it appeared there was a hardware problem and they were gonna pull the server to investigate, but it was leaning towards a bad power supply.
Within 5 mins, got a call back saying it was a bad power supply, and they have replaced, and server would be re-racked in just a second.
Couple mins later got a call saying server was up, and all appeared to be good, asked if I could verify that Virtouzzo started fine, as they do not deal with sw-soft, and were unsure how to test.
Total down time from notification well under 10 minutes. We have been with other DCs that it took 10 mins to even get someone off their butt to go press the reset button, much less fix it. LOL
