A mass email was sent out about it, Did you get it?

There is a loop and connectivity problem with epik

multipleimage is working around the clock to get everything back up and running, should be today (hopefully)

Yes, my server was down from yesterday noon too. I have sent two support emails but I haven't received a reply yet.

I am sure Tim and his team will work this out.

<edit>I received a copy of the mail from multipleimage.</edit>

By the way, I did not receive that mass email. Can any one of you(multipleimage.com clients) PM me a copy?

Thanks,

Peter

Hi guys

We apologize for the downtime, we have a firm ETA set for tonight or early tomorrow morning.. Everything should be back then.

Any update? I got an email 4/24/2002 03:25:51 -0700 saying
"Hello. You should have received your new primary IP's by now. If you
have not received them you should be receiving them within the next
couple of hours." I never got any and therefore emailed them and got a response the next day

4/25/2002 01:51:09 -0700: " will look into this for you."

That's the last I heard from them - now their own domain is dead and they are now not answering emails...

My server is up, but the connection is quite slow and I only have one IP address. Things should start to get back to normal.

I haven't got a chance to check the speed again, and I still haven't received my IPs.

Tech support is not as responsive as I would like it to be.

Do they respond at all? i sent in a email, they sent me an email back saying they got it (it was automated) but they haven't responded

I actually have only been corresponding with Tim through ICQ. Not email contact.

It is difficult to catch him.

Everything should be back up and operational now.

And clocker, remember, you are not a customer. We have had this discussion before.

I'm still waiting for my server IP:s to be sent.

Update of my case:

My servers have been down since April 12

April 24 I got an email 4/24/2002 03:25:51 -0700 saying
"Hello. You should have received your new primary IP's by now. If you
have not received them you should be receiving them within the next
couple of hours." I never got any and therefore emailed them and got a response the next day

4/25/2002 01:51:09 -0700: " will look into this for you."

Since then I have sent them an email every other day or so but I NEVER get my IP addresses. In
other words my servers are unaccessible.

Now it's May 3 and I was *again* promised I would get them yesterday - but of course nothing
is happening. Luckily enough I don't have my whole business with them, just my first H-Sphere servers
but shortly said most customers I had on these servers have of course left, some have even issued chargebacks :(. Understandably since I promised them we should be up and running in a few days when I got that email 24/4.

I have invested so much time etc to get these servers up and running so I'm not willing to change DC,
also I was extremly happy with MultipleImage before this started.

Do you have a dedicated server with them?

ASPCode.net
05-03-2002, 03:23 PM
Yes. One Windows 2000 and one Linux Redhat box - we decided to move over to H-Sphere from HostingController so these are my first H-Sphere cluster.

We're still down. 3 weeks today. We've had limited to no contact in the past week and a half with them, even after several emails and a LOT of ICQ messages. Tim seems to be ignoring us. The most I can get is them claiming it's fixed(once a week), like Tim wrote 4 days ago, and in reality nothing is working, and they have disappeared. If everything has been working for four days, you would think they could reply to a single email of mine, or get my servers up by now. We have lost over 70+% of the customers on these machines, and they actually had the nerve to send us an invoice during all of this. What virtual hosting client would stay with a host that is down for three weeks straight with almost NO explanation because the only thing you've heard from them is Southern Bell had a fiber cut, and they were attempting to find it about 19 days ago.

$99/month hosts are looking top notch right now compared to MultipleImage.

No offense, but what in the heck are you guys thinking?!?!?

How can you even consider staying with a host that's had you out of service for **weeks**??

Come on man, take your business elsewhere.

Well it's not all that easy. We have no access to the machines at all - which means we can't move our clients files elsewhere.
Secondly, changing provider means a lot of costs - I've only been with MultipleImage since March or so and just don't feel like starting all over again. Just configuring the servers, I mean firewalls, database engines, getting H-Sphere to work like we want it to etc has taken us a lot of time.
Also, the first time with MultipleImage was really great - I would say the best provider I ever used - well maybe CrystalTech was at the same level : really responsive and helpful - therefore it is my hope that all this slow support stuff comes from them being overwhelmed with work after switching DC and that they will come back to *normal* state again.

Wow, so what do you tell your customers? I cannot believe you find that acceptable!

ASPCode.net
05-04-2002, 01:58 PM
No I don't find it acceptable but I need to look at my options. *Luckily* enough I only had like 20 or so clients and 30-40 domains on that box ( although each of them is of course as important as anyone else - but you get my point : businesswise they are not so many ): these are/were my very first H-Sphere customers.

The thing is: the only thing I can do is wait - I have no access to the boxes whatsoever so I can't get my customers files and transfer them to my other servers I have with another provider. In other words the customers are probably lost anyway. So what did I tell them: basically the same information I got from MultipleImage: we will be up that day, correction that day, correction that day etc. I fully understand them for leaving me... This is probably the worst thing - I mean our customers being disappointed - and we are not even able to give them access to their files when they want to change to another webhost.

Very bad situation, wonder what kinda credit they plan on giving out.. what would you say would be acceptable for this? We cannot change data centers at this point because they have all of our data.

Without them telling me... I've now got a couple working IP's. This will only get two servers up though, and only a few websites on each server up.

why is that?

you can run a million sites off one ip

WH Master
05-05-2002, 05:00 PM
Well, sites that require a dedicated IP. Also, the nameservers need IP's. I've never changed the IP of an account on Cpanel either, we'll see how that works.

Can't get into the Cpanel server anyway, I'm getting an Invalid License error. I entered "/usr/local/cpanel/cpkeyclt" and it says: "The Cpanel Key Server said returned 500 Request Denied - No license entry found for your machine!"

I've never had this problem before, does anyone here know how I should go about fixing it? I don't think anything at MultipleImage will change soon though, so I think I'm on my own trying to fix this for now.

So what kind of sites require their own ip?
Don't tell me SSL becaus with the new modssl you can use the same ip

and if i had 2 ips
216.18.0.178
216.18.0.179

i could use .178 as my ns1
.179 as my ns2
and run my say... 200 websites, off .178, and .179

Incase you didn't know that. i'm telling you now. Just because you are running name servers, or plan to, does not mean that you have to have two ips SOLELY for name servers.

I don't know what kind of business he runs, but I know WE have tons of resellers, that need 3 ip's each.

clocker1996

well im just saying
ips are ips

if i assign you 3 ips of mine becuase you're a reseller

i can still take that ip and bind things to it.

e.g. even if it was a small prog
