Since our other thread was closed, per my request, I've started this one.

Basically, this site is a volunteer effort by many members of WHT to put together comprehensive FAQs, documentation, contact information and forms - for people to use to get control of their domain names back...and to make transferring from one host to another an easier process.

Take a look at what we have so far: http://www.lostdomain.com

We're still looking for someone to install a WHOIS script that can pull up the normail WHOIS info...but also include the registrar name.

Also, Omair has offered to install Kbase for us - for the FAQs. We could use some actual Q & A's that would be informative.

I'm looking for some specific instructions on transferring non-US domains - if anyone wants to tackle instructions for any particular TLD, you can email them to me.

Anyway, if anyone wants to help...jump in! :D

Hello Tina,

Maybe you missed it, but I offered that I would install the Whois Script for LostDomain.com too. Maybe I would develop it or if I would be able to find it then I would setup that one for you.

Basically, I can do any sort of back-end or database driven things needed for LostDomain.com

The whois script that I really like is the GeekTools WHOIS Proxy. It lets you ban abusive users as well.

Tina, getting confused with all the what where, already? :)

You also told me that omair was doing the whois script.

Relax. Take a deep breath. :)

With so many offers to help, I'm losing track! haha.

Anyway, if you have actually contributed somethign to this project - email me at tina@affordablehost.com with your name, what you completed and what you want your link to say. I'm putting together the "sponsor" page now.

We still need documentation! If anyone has ANY content to contribute, please let me know! I think we have all the PHP stuff covered.

Its coming together nicely - thanks everyone! :)

All my volunteers seem to have disappeared. Anyone still interested? We need content and instructions for domain name owners, desperately.

Email me at tina@affordablehost.com if interested. Thanks!

I have an email waiting to send you with all the instructions that I have for doing name server changes, but no one has been answering the threads on the message board at lostdomain.com about my questions.

If the site is just about transferring domain names between registrars, then I've totally misunderstood the purpose of the site.

Doh! I'm stupid. I forget, I'm not the admin of vBulletin on lostdomain.com - so I don't get a 'new message' email. I forgot to check there!!!!! :D

No, this project is ALL about domain names and how to transfer hosts via all the different registrars...and how to get a domain name back that has the wrong email address, etc.

Basically, anythign having to do with domain name registrations/transfers and how they work.

Prehaps you could indicate what kind of content or instructions you require, and how they should be formatted?

I have a-look at the site, and again, was confused as to what you are trying to achieve. Maybe you could list somewhere which domain registers and countries you do/dont have instructions for - so that work is not duplicated?
