View Full Version : How do I receive customers payment?
tenzan 09-28-2005, 08:48 AM Hello!
I'm a newbie.
I have no idea and I want to know how will I receive my future customers payments? Do I have to open a bank account for that? I heard about a merchant account on the web kind of authorize.net or 2checkout.com, do I have to get this service?
Is there a flowchard on the internet, where I could clearly see how the money moves. Reseller web hosting companies offer billing systems for free, but this is a different thing from what I want know...
Could anybody explain to me?
Sorry for my bad english :)

Jamie Harrop 09-28-2005, 08:53 AM Tenzan,
Try using Paypal. Paypal is International renowned for it's secure payment gateway.
See https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=xpt/bizui/WhatIsPayPal-outside
On there you will find a flow chart of how Paypal works.

Thanks.
But recently I got email from PayPal what they don't work here in my country (Kyrgyzstan).
In sign up page of PayPal, in list of countries there is no Kyrgyzstan.
Is there other way tha PayPal?
Jamie Harrop 09-28-2005, 09:04 AM I see, Tenzan. Hummm, you could always use a credit card processor such as Authorize.net, as you mentioned in your post.
http://www.authorize.net/resources/howitworksdiagram/
You will find a diagram there of how it works.
There may well be limits to the countries that can be used, it may well be that you have to setup a US bank account.

bitesites 10-05-2005, 04:10 AM I would suggest a credit card processor such as linkpoint.com
NelKa 10-05-2005, 04:21 AM You can see Money Bookers too, It is a good service:
www .moneybookers.com
good luck!!
tenzan 10-05-2005, 07:37 AM So, there are may be more than one payment gateways in one site?..
bitesites 10-05-2005, 12:00 PM This can happen at times such as WHMautopilot allows one to integrate several payment methods into their system.
crislem 10-05-2005, 12:02 PM ...it may well be that you have to setup a US bank account.Too bad it is not easy for somebody that doesn't live in the US to open a bank account these days... Just thought tenzan should know. For his sake, I hope I am wrong.
What about www.worldpay.com ? Would that work for you tenzan?
LemCorp-Nahuel 10-05-2005, 12:47 PM Worldpay is the best for this.
But....is a fee that you must support..
Is not too cheap for those companys which are starting.
2CheckOut will be the best way, is not to expensive and works well.
Other free method that you can use (don't know if it supports your country) could be Stormpay.com

I got email from Authorize.Net's reseller support:"Unfortunately we are only able to offer our services to US based business or merchants who have a US based merchant accounts." They advised me to send email to their sales department. I sent one, now waiting for reply.
[What about www.worldpay.com ? Would that work for you tenzan? [/B]
I sent them email too today. Haven't got email yet.
Though I knew that 2Checkout and Monybookers.com works for me. These days I try to know as many as possible several payment gateways and their fees.
whoiscartpro 10-06-2005, 08:04 AM We had used Moneybookers for a few years. We recommend them. They provide 100% fraud and chargeback protection and they send your moneys to your bank accounts within 5 days. But your customers cannot make payment easily via moneybookers. Also they get 8% of every payment.
We recommend you 2checkout too.
Yash-JH 10-06-2005, 10:13 AM Unless you are a US based business and have a US bank account, most US based merchant account services won't accept you (including authorize.net, linkpoint, etc).
Your only option is web-based services such as 2Checkout, CCAvenue or the like.
tenzan 10-06-2005, 02:20 PM I live in Kyrgyzstan (former USSR) and planning to offer webhosting for Japan. Is only 2Checkout suitable for me? How about Moneybookers?
I read a lot about 3rd party processors? Is 2Checkout is 3rd pp?
2Checkout wrote me:
"To receive a wire transfer in USD to Kyrgyzstan would be $12.00 USD
To recieve a wire transfer in JPY to Kyrgyzstan would be $20.00".
I don't understand that meaning - 20 dollars costs to transfer each payment in JPY? Is this applied for each transfer or this is a monthly payment? I can't get used to word "wire"...:(
Anybody who knows well this system, please explain to me how it works...:bawling:
StackHost 10-06-2005, 03:15 PM I would definitely consider using 2checkout for your international orders. It is unfortunate that Paypal.com does not provide servicing for your country, because they really are the best in secure payment processing.
However, 2checkout is really good about fraud and payment issues as well. They have very few fees associated with their services also, which is a major plus.
In terms of the money transferring you have to take into consideration the denomination of the funds you are receiving. Different denominations will cost you different amounts to transfer. If at all possible, I would suggest opening a bank account in your country and having an EFT (electronic funds transfer) directly into your account. There are hardly any fees associated with this, however I am not directly familiar with your situation and country.
Whatever you do though, stay away from linkpoint.com. This is an opinion of my company simply because they charge unnecessary fees, and have basically ZERO fraud control alone, which means you would need to contract out fraud control from somewhere like fraudgate.com or something along those lines.
Hope this help.
Kindest Regards,
Goodydomains.com Support
steven-v 10-06-2005, 07:01 PM I suggest you to work with well-established company as RESELLER. It's nearly impossible to get your own merchant account when you living in Kygystan (tajikistan, uzbekistant and etc). Also hardly anybody want to deal with you directly for exact same reasons. We do have some resellers from your area and they learn that working this way is much better and secured way of making money.
You PM me for details.

It will be JPY. But I will definitely withdraw in USD, so maybe I'll lose some money in currency conversion...

I'll confirm my bank if they provide EFT...

I understand the feature EFT should be provided by my bank, not by 2 Checkout... Am I correct?
hostingfreak 10-10-2005, 03:13 PM paypal.com is the most used billing system that i have ever seen... but there are other such as 2 check out or you can get a P.O. BOX a lot more safe than giving your home address on the net and allows you to recive mail-in payments!
magroot 10-10-2005, 03:48 PM it seems to me, that some like webmoney works with your country...try it, they a russian, as i know.....

Bashar 10-13-2005, 12:46 AM i doublt it, paypal locks accounts accessed from not allowed countries and asks the owner to verify.
best option is to use 2checkout IMO
tenzan 10-13-2005, 12:54 AM Some person wrote me that they lost thousands with 2CO and he recommended WorlPay... I dont know....
But do you use 2CO?
bitesites 10-13-2005, 01:33 AM I have in fact lost thousands and we are based in the US using Paypal although 2CO has been a good option for us. I would suggest performing searches using Yahoo, Google, WHT etc and see the good and bad about every option you have. Many people spread the news quickly and do enjoy sharing their experiences.

You also lost thousands dollars?!.. And you're still using 2CO?
Tell me, how I could lost the money with 2CO? How it works?
bitesites 10-13-2005, 01:45 AM I lost thousands using Paypal although we resolved that issue. 2Co we have not lost any funds although the first payment we had to wait over a month for but this was about a year to 2 years ago. After the first payment from 2CO everything has been smooth.

So did you get back the lost thousands or not?
Do you use PayPal and 2CO together?
Did you try WorldPay?

yes i use them.
i had very bad experience with worldpay 3-4yrs back, but many people recommend them now as they have changed their system and fraud checking.

At the moment I use both although I am thinking of going to Linkpoint as they seem to be very reliable and their support is excellent. Paypal although I dont like them I use them because the convience level is extremely high with them and gives credibility. Worldpay I never heard of them although I may be looking into them to get more of an input.
