( At least, that's listed @ rackshack.net :D )

By the way, nice offer :)

A P4 with normal SD RAM is a crappy one!

anandtech tests (http://www.anandtech.com/chipsets/showdoc.html?i=1518&p=11) - the i845 benchmarks are with SD RAM: "The i845 takes about 40% longer to complete the script than both the i850 and P4X266."

Where does it say that the server is using the i845 chipset with SDRAM?

There will always be somebody always says something crappy about rackshack. Get tired of it.

why should somebody care about the P4 with SDRAM while at the same price somebody will get less server (P3 with SDRAM and less memory/bandwith/HD). People just likes to complaint nowadays. They want mercedes for the price of yugo.

cheers,
:beer:

i like rackshack and their agressive pricing (I am no webhosting competitor!). I just say, that a P3 solution might be in comparision better performing than that p4 and have proved it with some benchmarks.

why I think rackshack is using SD RAM: because DDR RAM/Mainboards are more expensive than normal SD RAM Systems. and if it would be DDR or RD RAM headsurfer would stress it in his posting or at the details website at rackshack.net.

What benchmark? What are the things being benchmarked? I will be more interested to know about the benchmark in apache performance than benchmark in 3D graphics or Office Applications since it's of no irrelevant to any of us.

My point is, at that price no body should ever complaint. If you want a good server then buy the high end sever from Compaq/Dell or build your own server and colocate it somewhere. $139/mo for P4/1.7Ghz and 1GB SDRAM with 2x60GB and 600GB bandwith is really good offer. Or Perharps you would take a P3/800Mhz and 512MB SDRAM with 30GB IDE and 50GB of bandwith for the same price? I can offer that to you, just contact me.

All of us get tired of listening people complaining about rackshack (how crappy their hardware is, etc). Heck, at what they are offering, I found it still an incredible deal; it's SDRAM, so what? It's still a good deal. Stop complaining.

cheers,
:beer:

OMG 600GB!! This is an amazing amount...

I wish for a change hosting providers would offer lower spec, lower priced machines for people wishing to start out and not spend as much :(

Does anyone else agree? I would like to see some more 800+/-Mhz, 256Ram, 10-20Gb deals, for that bit less

If only :(

Very nice offer.

Most sites should be using name based anyway.

WOW what a deal. But it looks like you're sold out so that means no more right now.

Hey i have a quick question for you... I ordered your sever today (p4 setup)... And i was charged $448 for the overall payment (first month + setup)...

But listed on your site it says
Setup = $248
Month = $129

That Equals = $378 + tax (roughly $22)

Where is the extra $48 coming from, just curious.

Thanks

Nah, it would take weeks IMO for RS to properly get this deal in place etc. I don't think it was a spur of the moment type situation in response to webreseller.net's great offers posted here very recently. Both offers look very good. Plenty of fish in the ocean for everyone. :)

And kudos for headsurfer in allowing posts to be made in the Offer's section here. It keeps the most deserving offers prominant and eliminates those not so deserving. The market judges which is which. This is the natural order of things. :)

It's also good from a potential customer's perspective to watch the company who made the offer deal with questions etc. It becomes a truly dynamic marketplace and that's good for us all. :)

Now what I want to know is the exact time and day you are getting more of those in! :P

...Seriously...

I've managed to get one as well and from what I've heard, there'll be more on Tueday- quite a few of them with this special price. However, once those sell-out, then nobody knows what the price will be.
