I realised that, most of you here, have more than 1 domain names for yourselves.

Some of you have 2, some of you have more than 5.

Any Reasons why you buy so many domain names?
Do you pay for each individual domain names?

Five possible reasons:

1) Different subjects = different domains

2) Same Name, Different TLD = prevent others from registering similar names that might diffuse brand

3) Different domains for hosting services = means to offer packages that appeal to different markets without alienating current customers who might be paying more.

4) Several points of prescence pointing to main domain.

5) Inability to resist good name that is available.

I have many that I think are well-suited for specific businesses. Lately, I've been telling myself to quit looking at recently-deleted domain names and to spend my energies on the one that shows the most promise.

Regards,

I have had about 10 domains. 1 for each website.

On one website though, I used subdomain.domain.net for hosting, and .com for the actuall site.
