What are the Advantages and Disadvantages of SHARED HOSTING & DEDICATED HOSTING?

It depends on what kind of site that you have. Are it just html pages, or high-resource php files?

My own site with 1000 visitors a day is on a shared server, no problems with it.

Another site which I programmed the php script for with 5000 unique visitors a day, and over 300 GB of bandwidth, is on a shared RaQ4 with 20 other small sites. Also, no problem.

On a shared server with a good web host you don't have to play administrator. Somebody else will install security patches and reboot the server when it goes down at 4am.

A dedicated server comes in handy when your site is too popular for a shared server or when you want full control.

Of course, if you set the server up properly, it isn't going to spontaneously crash at 4am.

Woops ... sorry. I meant to vote for the shared hosting. :( (Cannot redo the post).

Small server with 128MB RAM and 166MHz Pentium can handle 1000 hits for a day just fine. If your host has better than that (like 512MB RAM and 850MHz CPU and some 5400/7200rpm HD) you should be fine. :)
