I am looking to add an affiliate program to my web hosting business, but I have to honestly say, I have no idea what types of scripts to use and what is the best system. I was thinking of having an option for the affiliates of either a 1 time payment, or a monthly commission. Please help me out by suggesting some scripts, or how this can actually be done. I am not sure what method of payment I will be using for my hosting clients, but I am currently using paypal.

Thanks,
Eliav

As usual, Ralph Wilson is a great source of expert info on all things
web biz.

Lifetime commissions can be a great motivator to help you partner with serious affiliates. But be careful before you go down that road, as you'll be locked in to paying these affiliates a certain payment for years. Folks don't look kindly on having lifetime payment rates adjusted after they've sent you clients.

http://Sitesell.com is the most successful web host that I know, who has built the whole thing (20,000 accounts sold last I heard) on a lifetime commission structure. They are worth studying for a variety of reasons.
