Dear all,

I have some question regarding Win2000 server.

I would like to know can I do symbolic link under win2000 server?

I have an win2000 which is for streaming video. My harddisk don't have enough disk space and I plan to add another harddisk.

All my files are stored under D Drive under the asfroot directory. Windows Media Services is also configured to stream files under this directory only. If I add an additonal harddisk, how can I make Windows Media Services to stream files from the new harddisk as well? Is there such a thing like symbolic link in Windows? If yes, I can link from the asfroot directory to the new hardisk.

No there is not, but there is a pretty easy solution. What you can do is create a new unicast point in WMS to point to the new drive and change your .asx files to the new unicast point.

Hope that helps!

1. Volumes (merge the new harddisk space as one volume)

2. Virtual Directories (don't think this will help much though)
