Hi,

I have CobaltRaq3 with 64 RAM.

Suddenly..my server running very-very slow...one website need 5 second before..now need 5 minute more to access via HTTP://.
I try to trace-route....it’s Ok! All email coming : no problem!

My ISP said to uppgade RAM to 256MB, I do it! But after RAM added still slow?!. If I try enter into Server Management are Fast! My server slow only if accessed via HTTP:


Any body know what happend on my server? What must I do?

My Technical Support said to me : "You were being synflooded, I have installed a script to stop the synflood so it has a minimal impact on your machine. "

Somebody can tell me what is SYNFLOOD? What must I do, so next time no happen again?

Certinaly not much to go on there...

I think it is a tcp attack on your server. This attack bring up alot of httpd requests from your server and your server will be slightly abnormally loaded and in turn cause your server to be slow.

is there anything you can do to prevent this ?

maybe someone has some links to read more about it ?
