I just signed up with them last night and got everything done pretty fast. Within a few hours I was able to connect to the server and upload. The odd thing I noticed was the URL they provided -> "http://209.51.134.122/~jarod" redirects to some defaultpage.com site! Turns out the url only works if I had a trailing slash at the end -> "http://209.51.134.122/~jarod/" which I find odd. So I tried to use their live online support which states they operate M-F 9-5PM. I tried all day and it states "No one is available to help you at this time". :-/
Anyone ever seen this trailing slash problem before?? I hope it's not going to be a problem once my domain points to their DNS.
And..anyone from Wisehosting reading this?? Your support today is nonexistant.
Dear Damage,
Thats not a problem. Since the default page is not really a real URL which the SHARED IP is based on you have to put a slash after your username.
Once your domain propagates you'll access your site @ http://www.yourdomain.com
PS. In case of problems like this open a ticket at http://support.wisehosting.net and you'll get a response in less than an hour.
Thank You

Sina,
Thanks for the quick response. I was just worried there was some kind of configuration problem with that slash issue.
While I have your attention. May I ask why Wisehosting prefers to put new sites at their Atlanta location? My site is California related so I expect most of my visitors to come from California and I had requested that on the order, but was put on your Atlanta location anyways. The speed is still fast, so I'm not complaining, but I'm just worried that if there ever was a lot of traffic, I'd like my visitors to go through as few hops as possible.
TIA.

A trailing slash is quite normal.
Damage,
Well we've gone into business with an Atlanata Datacenter Recently and they are really good. Better than ones we have over here in california. So we are setting up all our new clients in ATLANTA, better service !
And you could have my word no matter how mcuh traffic you have as long as you stay in yuor limits you would'nt have a problem.
Thank You
