View Full Version : eNom payment methods
Stan Marsh 09-22-2005, 07:56 AM Well, I've got a long-awaited and dreamed-about eNom reseller account. All went smooth, I was more than a little happy...
Untill it was time to transfer some funds to it. Now, I must state that I live in one of those high-risk countries which are (or, maybe, were) 'famous' for credit card fraud and eNom's credit card processing is blocking their IPs. Now, I'm a tolerant person and can understand the reasons for this and respect company's decision to block whole country (but still this reminds me of the methods used by Hitler's and Stalin's 'ethnical pureness' when the whole nation must suffer because of the few). So, no luck to fill my account with Visa. So far, so good, let's try Paypal...
And NOW is the main reason I'm posting here. I have a *VERIFIED* Paypal account and still had no luck transferring the funds. Because of the same IP blocking. I was quite shocked, to say the least. They obviously are triple checking what Paypal already double checked...
Support told me to use wire transfer. I told support bye bye (I'm not gonna pay over USD30 for international wire transfer) and went to directi. Had absolutely no problems with funding of my account there...
This whole story left me with mixed emotions. I still have eNom's account, but probably will never use it again. Too sad good companies are rasists too...
KNL-BSW 09-22-2005, 08:54 AM I wouldn't say it is racism as much as it is "burnt once to many times".
Most of the time a company does something like that is because they have been frauded a lot from that specific place.
My guess would be Enom had a lot of the "fraudsters" sign up from that country fund accounts and regsiter many fraudulent domain names. They have done this in order to protect themselves.
It may not be perfect nor right, but it is how they have found to protect themselves. If you know a better option let them know. Enom has always been good about listening ot suggestions.
Stan Marsh 09-22-2005, 09:04 AM There are other ways. Directi, for example, asks for a scanned credit card to be faxed to them. They are manually doublechecking each Paypal transfer from non-verified accounts. THAT is the way to go, not block the whole countries with absolutely not logical reasons... As I've written above, I CAN understand and respect their decision to block credit card transcations from select IPs, but to block verified paypal members is beyond any reason I can accept and understand.
dmaven 09-22-2005, 12:57 PM Have you called up enom sales team to see if they can make an exception?
Divaqs 09-22-2005, 02:40 PM Hi localpub,
I am really curious... when you setup your reseller account with eNom. Did you go through some sort of account verification process? During which, did anyone note the country you are operating out of?
The reason I ask is that I was under the impression that exceptions could be made for specific accounts during the account verification process.....

I was asked in an online form - nothing more. My country was accepted without problem.
gerolsteiner 09-22-2005, 03:34 PM Have you contacted fraudcredit@enom? They can sometimes help with payments from blocked countries.
Divaqs 09-22-2005, 03:35 PM I don't understand...
I know you can sign-up for a retail account using an online form without any kind of account verification... though I thought that the online reseller sign-up system required supporting contracts to be signed and some sort of identification to be sent as well....
Oh... wait.... there is another way... is this a sub-account of someone?
KNL-BSW 09-22-2005, 03:37 PM The reason he is not available to obtain an exception is because he did not sign up for a reseller account directly through Enom. He obtained a sub account from another reseller.
Stan Marsh 09-22-2005, 03:43 PM Yes, Larry. You're correct.
KNL-BSW 09-22-2005, 03:46 PM Uh, if I remember correctly an account owner is allowed to push funds into there sub accounts (I'm not 100% about this). If this is possible though you could talk to the primary account holder.
gerolsteiner 09-22-2005, 03:50 PM Pushing of funds was once allowed, about a year ago iirc, but is not anymore.
dmaven 09-22-2005, 05:18 PM Why not just send them a check?
Divaqs 09-22-2005, 05:53 PM I just heard from people at eNom that it is still possible to have an account given an exception if you can verify your information with fraudcredit@enom.com.

Thank you. I'll try that. Later. Because so far I just stick with DirectI - need to use the amount I've credited to them.
Thanks again!
KNL-BSW 09-23-2005, 01:29 AM You may want to start that process now that way when you have used up your credits with DirectI you are ready to use Enom.

Its easy to fund with directi, but if somehow they face any chargeback they will give you debit note without any hesitation. It may happen even after 1 or 2 (or more) years of funding.
It may difficult to fund with Enom, but it seems safer to me.
I love Enom more then Directi on this...
