View Full Version : Would like to hear from any customers of webreseller.net
panopticon 04-12-2002, 04:23 AM Their new specials look like a fantstic deal (http://webreseller.net/), not only the hardware but also their attitude about customer support. Does anyone have some experience with them?
<Edit: prices above for eserves and tranxact are reversed>
smash 04-12-2002, 04:38 AM webreseller.net at 109? isn't it 190?
panopticon 04-12-2002, 05:16 AM No - webreseller is at $109 with a $125 setup fee for:
Intel Pentium III 1.0 GHz
450 GIG TRANSFER
512 MB RAM
60 GIG - 7,200 RPM HD
Intel 10/100 NIC
Includes 16 IP Addresses
(Arin Guidelines)
Ensim 3.0 Server Unlimited License
(currently sold out though after they posted an offer in the special offers forum.) They also have a Pentium 4 for $135/month.
Do you have any experience with them?
boing 04-12-2002, 06:33 AM I have hosted with webreseller.net for the last 3 or 4 months and have found them to be great and would highly recommend them.
The support is top notch, no downtime so far, nice specials and the techs know what they are doing. I am happy to be using them as they seem to be very customer focussed and that is a breath of fresh air these days.
Hope this helps
Scott (another satisfied customer):D
panopticon 04-12-2002, 06:46 AM Thanks very much Scott.
Do you have a sense of how many people work there?
Also have you had any problems after business hours, like needing a server reboot?
boing 04-12-2002, 06:59 AM unsure how many people work there sorry.
there doesn't seem to be a shortage of staff though.
i haven't had to have a reboot but the support i have needed, mainly when wanting to add extra things, has been available when required. I am in Melbourne, Australia so I everytime I ask for anything it is after hours over there ;)
freakysid 04-12-2002, 07:12 AM Hey Scott. Sorry to hear you live in Melbourne. I'm in Sydney ;)
Is boing.net located with webreseller? Funny thing is that when I use visual traceroute to your domain, it goes through Yipes before your machine, but it is showing your machine as being in Australia. How is that?
:)
boing 04-12-2002, 08:24 AM hi freakysid
I am an expat Kiwi now in Melb, so that syd vs melb doesn't work, nice try though.
that seems odd, from what I understand my server is in Exton, PA.
oh well, i can live with it 8)
have a good one
webreseller 04-12-2002, 09:27 AM Our attitude and philosophy at webreseller.net is to provide clients with the best in support and service. Our CEO is always willing and enjoys speaking with customers. All our machines, before the are ever given to a customer are burned in and test to be sure they will cause no problems. For this reason machines can take longer to setup, but overall, the end result is a solid machine. We have had customers that have not been happy with us, try as we might, we can not always resolve every situation to 100% perfection, but we try. When we fall short of a customers expectation levels we make it up to them other ways. I hope this helps shed some light on our company.
TuxVSP 04-12-2002, 09:55 AM I must say, I am very impressed with webresller sales/billing and support staff. The service and price are just what I was looking for. I would advise anyone who is looking for a good company with a cheep price to go with webreseller.net
DomiNET.net 04-12-2002, 11:20 AM This weekend rackshack is going to offer a limited edition of
p4 1.6
2 60GB 7200 drives
600GB Bandwidth
$249 setup 129/mo
webreseller 04-12-2002, 11:31 AM I heard this also, from what I understand they are used systems from a buyout of a company... Not to sure so do not quote me...
Patrick-EV1 04-12-2002, 12:32 PM That's absolutely incorrect, if you're not 100% sure, please try not to post it.
webreseller 04-12-2002, 12:34 PM No question then, that is good deal..

Who cares if they did anyway? Are you saying these would make anyless of a deal!?
webreseller 04-12-2002, 02:16 PM No, not at all, I know RS is know though for it's Brand New systems.. A question only.. As you notice, I put in that's a great deal...
ckevin 04-12-2002, 09:03 PM I've got a server from them tonight, really fast setup and great support! The server is fast and everythings fine. I'm still checking the server and if the connection is stable, I will start moving my customers there.
Now, my only concern is the IPs, I only got 8 IPs to start up but they said I can get more on Monday, so hold on...
It would be great if they can lower the IPs cost, currently additional IPs cost $1/IP/month, while a few others can give free IPs based on the ARIN rules or only a setup fee such as $1/IP/setup. Yeah, make it more competitive ;)
In general, I'm satisfied with their service!
BiGWill 04-12-2002, 09:27 PM nice ckevin, keep us posted :)
Mxhub 04-12-2002, 09:42 PM What do you mean by "FREE 10 ACCOUNT RESELLER BILLING & AUTOMATION SUITE" ? Care to explain? Thanks.
webreseller 04-12-2002, 10:19 PM If you visit http://webreseller.net/rfauto.htm it is an automation system that will allow automated billing and setup. That link will give you many details
Webreseller, when are you going to offer the Plesk & CPanel deals? I hope the pricing is as good as the Ensim deals :)
And when can I see your datacenter pictures? That'd be nice and increase my confidence in your company.
webreseller 04-13-2002, 01:55 PM Becuase of the many requests we will get photos for you and we will be offering Plesk at the end of next week.. Cpanel we are only looking into at this time...
Thanks for the very fast response! Wow, I'm impressed, it's weekend and you replied my post in 2 minutes :stickout
webreseller 04-13-2002, 02:06 PM If you need an answer you do not have time to wait... :)
Chicken 04-13-2002, 02:38 PM Please note that direct pre-sales questions should be emailed/PM'ed to the host directly and not posted to the forum. Also replies handled in the same manner.

Why the issue Chicken? Seems everyone does this, and has done this without issue. In fact I think it is a better way of getting info, that way anyone who didn't think of a question, or was new to the thread wouldn't be PM'ing the individual about everything they forgot to ask, or wanted to ask, thereby swamping them with PM's to answer. I don't see anyone offering technical support here on this thread, just questions on what is, or isn't available on their servers. Sounds like plain old simple discussion.
This at least in my opinion is what a discussion board was designed for, discussion. VBulletin sells their product under the idea of it being an "Instant Community". To me discussion is what communites do.

This thread is titled "Would like to hear from any customers of webreseller.net."
I doubt that webreseller falls into that category.
Chicken was being liberal in allowing the posts to stand.
I would have put a stop to it long ago.

Just to follow up on my own post, ticket submitted roughly 12:15am Sunday, ticket answered AND problem resolved 1:39am.
Not too shabby.

webreseller 04-14-2002, 09:40 PM We try to please and get all tickets answered ASAP.. :) DNS issues can cause major headaches for a customer so we need to get those things resolved quickly.

From the CEO down to the support staff these guys know what web hosting companies need.
We used to do everything in house but now we get better:
hardware support bandwidth and software (ENSIM) with 2 dedicated servers.
AND it costs us less per month. It simply does not get any better than that.
Long live webreseller.net!
