Ok I just read the other monster regarding windows licensing, and frankly I want to make sure what I thought was right actually is... I was under the impression that if you were to use NTFS permissions to protect folders and files for each website(so that site1 could not alter site2's files) you would need multiple IUSR accounts, say IUSR_SITE1, IUSR_2. Saying that would mean if you had 50 independent sites you would need 50 CAL's in order to server all these independent sites(on one server).
As far as I know this is the only way to "really" protect web site owners from each other on the same server(such as using filesystemobject etc to alter files outside of their respective path). You would also need this if you were using MS FTP and FrontPage Extensions am I right? I always thought this was horribily expensive and now I am beginning to hope that I was originally wrong...
Could some one PLEASE clear this up, once and for all.
