I was wondering if someone could be so kind to grab me by my shoulders and point me in the right direction and then just kick me real hard in that direction.

i want to learn about mysql databases. i need one for my form on my site, which is going to my email box right now and i hate it. i told my hubby that the tutorials i've been reading...well they might as well write them in spanish or swaheelee, cuz i have no idea what they're saying...well...i may be exagerating, but geesh...i am figuring out a little bit at a time.

i'm using cpanelx and i have mysql in it and can someone just help me out here. please tell me i'm not wasting my time learning...sometimes i find myself staring at my screen with my mouth open (and hardly breathing) and then when i turn, i feel like i'm in a trance...anyway...can you just tell me of a website that explains it real good!

gotta go, thank you

If you are using CPanelX then phpMyAdmin (http://www.phpmyadmin.net/home_page) must have been installed.
Try inserting, selecting, deleting rows, columns, tables etc using a test database - you'll find the SQL query in a box on top for every action you do on the database - you can start from there and then head on learning SQL from a book using phpMyAdmin at the same time.

Go to a B+N, or Borders, or something to that effect and sit down with a couple of mysql-specific books and find something you can work with.

There are a couple of good books at B+N that teach php and mysql together.
