I know it sounds like I'm a cheap bastard, but that's because I am. :D

Anyways looking for CPanel reseller that is fair on the price. Not looking to be gouged. I can install myself.

PM's are fine.

Thanks in advance.

Cpanel distribution outside the distribs noc can not go lower than a certain price per month. So no one cpanel distrib can give a lower price than the other when it comes down to it.

Fair enough, that's why I'm dealing with PM's only.

I have an offer of $75, can anyone beat this?

I doubt you'll find much lower, to get the price down to 75, the person has to buy atleast 125 licenses, and he wouldn't turn a profit off of that, so they've prolly bought more.... To get any lower and get a profit, you would have to buy something like 200-250 licenses...

That's not true. You can get a Cpanel license for $70 per month per server from Site5 if you have 10 or more licenses.

there is a best solution for this...have you heard abt Hostgui....this is a new control panle which is silimar like cpanel and has JSP support by default....nice one is it has got only one time setup cost of ~$570.......so better than Cpanel....but you wont be getting updates like cpanel....for more info checkout www.hostgui.net

Yeah , but it takes ages before they release it :(

edit:
P.s. this is not to attack hostgui, I understand they need to test it , and not releasing it too early with loads of bugs like every MicroSoft product :D

That update part is not true, there will be updates for HostGUI after all its new and has to breath and grow. but the updates will not come nightly like Cpanel. Not to down Cpanel in anyway, just stating the difference and confirming the updates part of the message I quoted.

yea thats true but if we are getting the same features at ~$520 I mean one time investment then y should we pay monthly payment for control panel... and I heard that users have the chance to crash the cpanel server , but I'm not sure. and hostgui is comming with great security than cpanel....this info I got from one of our hosting provider

Hi Raj,
Actually its $500, we are the developers of it so we could tell you exactly what to expect. I can't comment on Cpanel since Im a competitor to it and would rather not have this turn into a Cpanel bashing thread.

oh thats gr8t !!!....but still I guess $500 is reasonal one time investment.....rathar than paying monthly rent..right ???

Actually monthly rent is better in most cases for a company (Depending of course where you are located) as a monthly lease is an ongoing tax deductable expense - It can be advantageous to rent things rather than buy - especially servers.

My thoughts.

If you go to plesk's site they have a link to an article comparing control panels. im not sure if this is the hostingtech article by uuallen.

Its ironic, that they have a link to an article saying that CPanel would be number 1 control panel if they didn't have the dumb subscription based licensing.
