Hello!

I would like to know your opinion...What is the best way to change "magic" :) word UNLIMITED (web space, bandwidth, domains etc.) so often used to attract new clients with other word, more true and real ;) Your suggestions please!

That all depends on what you are offering. If you are offering 200mb of disk space rather than unlimited, use 200mb of disk space. I'm not quite sure what you are asking.

I agree with Jamie. If it's 200Mb then call it 200Mb.

I dunno - I still use the unlimited word for things like domain/databases, etc....

Still catches eyes and some poeple ask about it. And we're honest about it - the only limit is the size of the hosting plan purchased.

Even those that asked about it have never used more than 10 of anything we have unlimited... *shrugs*

You could try "infinity" ;) I don't quite care for it but it's something different.

Well, the question is, if you offer web hosting plan with feature to host 999 domain names, how would you advertise a such offer: '999 domain names' or 'unlimeted domains' - that is the point! ;) Because, 999 domain names = means almost unlimited or... Does anybody know any person/member/client who had parked/add-on/registered 999 domain name? ;)

There was a post on these fourms just a day or so ago with a person wondering how to park 15,000 (no typo) domians.

Wow, thats a lot of parked domains..........

But the OP does raise an interesting point...

Majority of WHT members always say "no such thing as unlimited" (or similar) which of course is true.

So how exactly do you describe "no restrictions" for the addons?

You could of course use "We do not place a limit on the amount of (insert addon here) you can use"

But as your probably aware that is too much text to place in the small cells/tables people use on there sites when showing there plans.

Personally i will continue to use "Unlimited POP3 Accounts" etc..... but itd be interesting to hear some alternatives.

Assuming you can use more than 1 word:

"Beyond the rainbow"
"Not-Limited"
"Too many to count"
"Where has the limitation gone?"
"Am I overselling?"
"Oh my god, THERES NO LIMIT!"
"GOOD LORD! HELP ME THERES SO MANY"
"OHHHHHHHH MYYYYYYY GGGOOOOOODDDDDDD"
"At least it's not space"
"It could be worse, you could have a limit"
"Have you seen my limits? (as in Have you seen my stapler?)"
"BONZAI! CHARGE WITH NO RESERVES!"
"ATTACK! NO LIMITATIONS!"
"All is fair in Love and war, and unlimited pop3 accounts."
"Pika-noLimitedPop3"
"As Snoop would say, Shizzle my Pop3 fo rizzle"
"Or, 'If it ain't unlimited, get rid o' it'"
"Unlimited, you know, like beer as in free"
"Have our limits run away again?"
"Where, oh where, have our limits gone?"
"There is no matrix"

or, you could just like.. freestyle about it

example:

"Yo, my web hosting company is the best,
we got unlimited unlike the rest.
Servers only get better with time,
that's because we're so fine.
Unlimited pop3 with many other features,
consider the support team your teachers.
Unlimited FTP's for you as well,
we're the best, as if you can't tell."

Anyway that's a few ways I came up with, good luck.

Are you kidding me? I don't do drugs.
I'm fueled by losing business to kiddie hosts! RAWR! ;)

I dont know what your trying to imply (maybe nothing) but im far from a kiddie host (last time i checked 26 was far beyond a child)

My apologies if i read your post wrong.

Whilst i do agree that kiddie hosts can be a pain they are also of a benefit to the more older and knowledgable hosts, without them you wouldnt have a nice little rush of orders in august / september when they go back to school.

NB. im not implying all young / kiddie hosts cant be successful and i appreciate that some can and will be successful.

Anyway, back on topic:

I suppose one solution would be to offer say 50 of each feature as in all honesty i think anyone needing more than 50 (insert addon here) on one account would be more suitable to a dedicated server.

Wasn't trying to imply anything, unless you were trying to call me a drug addict, in which I mean EVERY WORD OF IT! WINK WINK

;)

Have a good one.

i use the word "unmetered" meaning there is no restriction but if you do reach the load that the share server can't handle. i will help you to get a dedicated server.

unmetered != unlimited.

Agreed - however people tend to think big and want the most for their $$. Regardless if they'll use it.

Example - the people who clip coupns to buy things they don't need - but hey, they ahve a coupon to SAVE money buying it...

So a client may look at a plan you offer for (example) $50 and an identicle plan somewhere else for the same $50.

But you offer 50 - while the other offers 100...

They don't care that they won't use it - but they think "wow, I could do a lot with that"...

Just my thoughts on it.

Most hosts that have Ulimited in them have something in their T&C stating otherwise, just like their 99.9% uptime money back deals, always a loop hole.
