How many 1u servers fit in a cabinet?

If there's such thing as a 'standard' or 'common' rack, then 42 (typically), however I'd imagine there are different size racks.

Edit: Maybe a cabinet isn't the same as a rack. Also, that is just 1U space, not necessarily how many 1U servers you'd load in there. Switch, power, etc. take up room.

4 ISO Bars say 10 Power Strips each and lets say you put two switches in theirs that is 6U gone right there.

So you are saying around 35 servers in a 42U rack. Give or take something.

We get about 39-40 servers per rack most of the time.

but if you're gonna go buy 24 computers... at 1k a pop its' not THAT bad. sepcially if you're saving the colo costs of 21U if you can fit it in to 3U.

The power requirements are much better too.

1k/pop for small servers isn't bad, but they have very minimal specs, 1k for a server with 128 megs of ram... might as well be buying cobalt raq4's at the list price :laugh (450mhz processor, 64 megs of ram, $1400)
