Hello there,

Im looking to buy a lap top. Im not wanting anything extreme just something for when im on the move. Answer emails, web/ssh/icq things like that. As i say nothing much.

However, most companys that i look at such as dabs.com, scan.co.uk, simply.co.uk all have top of the range laptops. If possible im not wanting to spend 2k on a laptop. More near the 1k range.

Anyone had any experience with them? Which to avoid? which to look at?

I have really no clue about laptops.

Craig.

im lookin to get an HP zt1130...not the greatest (uses intel celeron at about 1.2Ghz i think) but it does simple everyday management/office type work. the last time i saw the price it retailed for $1400 at best buy.

I'd browse cnet.com and similar sites....

dabs.co.uk took 48 hours to deliver my new printer a few months ago which was great.

I had a problem with Watfords.co.uk a while back and after 27 days canceled my order and went to PCWorld and got the same product a few pounds more.

Good luck with your search.
