I'm trying to help a client modify her domain bought from Total Web solutions and she forwarded their advice as below...... does this make any sense to anyone.... as far as I am aware Internic do not get involved in modifying domain names, and the domain is not a Network Solutions domain, so what on earth could they be talking about below, or am I missing something??

"To move from Total Web Solutions to another ISP we require the completion of the 'Domain Transfer Request Form', your new ISP must then send a 'Domain Modify Template' direct to InterNIC requesting the transfer. InterNIC will then send us a 'Modify Template' e-mail which we will acknowledge."

It sounds like they want to transfer the domain name.
Those instructions are what you would do if you wanted to switch nameservers or change contact information for a domain name registered through Network Solutions.

It sounds like you just want to make changes to the zone file. Now, if you are changing to another hosting provider the company may not want to continue to maintain the zone file for that domain.
