i sent this to the list but that didnt help. i hope someone here can answer it...

RaQ3:

I have given a few people shell accounts to go along with their accounts.
What can I do to prevent them from seeing the files of other users in
/home/sites/site1, site2, site3 and so on.

I know they can cd to /home/sites/siteX but when they do an ls, I don't
want them to see the files of other users.

Is there any way I can set this up as well as have it done automatically
when a site is created?

I wouldnt give them telnet access to your box period, anyways its fairly hard to go about accomp. what you want without screwing up your cobalt box, but Im not a tech, maybe someone else can shed light on what needs to be done.

Your customers will always see other users documents, This is because of the old kernel the cobalt server uses.

When Cobalt decide to update the kernel this problem will be solved an d the raq will be better secured.

I suggest, that we all mail/call cobalt that we want a kernel update so that the raq is better secured. You can also try compilling your own new kernel on your raq, but I've heard many stories that it went wrong and that the raq woudn't boot anylonger.
