View Full Version : Web Stats
hostinc 04-11-2002, 03:55 PM I'm trying to look for a Windows log analyzer program that is similar to WebTrends Log Analyzer but isn't as expensive. What it does is it parse the log files and shows you detailed statistics about your site visitor, country, time & date, and all the pretty charts & graphs to go with it, etc
Do you guys have any recommendation?
Thanks
Brian
clemzonguy 04-11-2002, 05:02 PM Webalizer is great and free. Some would rather pay $1299 for others.

I'm wondering the same thing though. Is there anything else out there that can parse the log files and give simple stats that is easy to install, setup, and is either free or affordable. If not I may just creat one :D
qqqwww 04-11-2002, 05:44 PM The best log analyser I have ever seen is the Sawmill. You can configure it in absolutely any way as you like to see your web stats.
Change 04-12-2002, 04:45 AM AWStats is the best alternative to Webalizer I think (for online log reporting). Everything on one page, better stats, more stats, prettier :D

Wow, checking it out now, it seems to rule!! Much better than any viewer I've ever seen :D
abcsys 04-12-2002, 09:48 AM Try out WebLog Expert - http://www.weblogexpert.com. It generates detailed reports and is much cheaper then WebTrends

Hmm comparable to WebTrends indeed :) I'm learning about some great log analyzers here.. I didn't know there were so many good ones these days :stickout.
fatman 04-12-2002, 11:35 AM I fancy AWStats myself. It's a bit slow though.
hostinc 04-12-2002, 01:26 PM Wow! Thanks for all the replies. I tried out AWStats and WebLog. I'm impressed by both, they both shows the details I like. I personally think that WebLog has better organization and layout than AWStats.
Change 04-12-2002, 02:35 PM But AWStats is free ;) (Yes the other is better.. you have to decide for yourself if you need the extra features of the other packages :))

AWStats, is free and good enough for most things. Down points is that there is no login so stats are publicly available to anyone that knows the URL
SmarterStats, not free but very good. User has to log in to the SMarterStats service so better that AWStats in that resepect.

That's fine if you have one or two sites of your own. It's a bit more of a problem if you are a host with hundred/thousands of sites that you need to set it up for.
parsv 09-05-2005, 04:29 AM awstats is right choice
