Hello all,

One point of interest that I have found with potential clients that would allow me to reach a new market segment is to offer something similiar to what webshots does. I.E. a photo gallery area. Obviously there are lots of freebies out on the market, GPL, etc. I haven't had the time to take a look at them, so I'm looking for thoughts and opinions on which is the best.

What I would like to do with this is create a 'hosting' area that allows people to sign up for photo hosting where they can upload X amount of photos inside of Y amount of space for Z amount per month. What is the best way to go about this?

Hi Brad

Not sure if you have your own Server(s) or a reseller plan but the easiest option would be Fantastico Deluxe which has

4images Gallery (1.7.1)
Coppermine Photo Gallery (1.3.4)
Gallery (1.5-pl1)

That way your clients can set up and manage their own galleries within the resources of the plan they are on ;)

Thanks for the info. I own my own servers and would like to have something installed for clients that they could manage themselves. I checked out Fantastico Deluxe but only found webhosts that offered them and not installer files or anything for those. I use RedHat Ent. 3

Hi Brad

You have to buy a licence for Fantastico then install it on your servers

eg We use CPanel on our servers and it integrates with that and other control panels

Go to www.netenberg.com/fantastico.php

Bawalker,
If you are looking for customer installable scripts it really depends on whether you are using a control panel or not. Fantastico is for cpanel, Plesk has there own integrated option, along with Hsphere.

If you are not using a control panel then the options become different. I'm not sure if there is a software out there to do as you are asking, and it may have to be custom built.

Currently I use DirectAdmin 1.4 for my control panel.
