Ok, I've been through multiple hosts, and have received costly lessons about "unlimited." I need a new server and I see soo many sites out there like mine, and their owners have no problems... That's all I'm asking for, but at times it seems like it will never be anything more than a dream. I posted in the request forum, and received some very inticing offers. I was wondering what your experiences are with the following hosts, good, bad? Do you know if any are simply resellers and do not manage their own systems?
Also, below the list of hosts is my post from the other forum, if you had a similar experience to myself, and know of a good host that is not listed below, please let me know.

Hi all, I started out hosted on phpwebhosting.com, they couldn't meet my needs, and soon as I began to grow, I started to get random server outtages, and I would also randomly not be able to connect to MySQL. I then moved to featureprice.... That appears to be one of the most expensive lessons I've learned in a while. This is what I'm looking for:


Reliable uptime and tech support
Large data transfer allotment
Decent amount of web space
Up to date on things like PHP
At least one MySQL DB.
A server that doesn't restrict everything so I have some flexibility in working with my scripts and my website.
Telnet or SSH is a plus.
Large amount of e-mail accounts and possibly ftp accounts
Ability to host other domains for cheap is a plus.
I'm not looking to host pornography, but if the forums have heated debate that include adult language, and swearing and things like that, or maybe someone posts a nudie pic, I don't want to find that my server has shut me down overnight because I violated the "No adult content" clause.
After being burned repeatedly, I would really like a decent host with great tech support, and reliable servers.
Oh, and lastly, I want a host that is really quick, both in page loading, bandwidth, and in page generation.

My goal is to grow my news and forum site fairly large. I am looking for a server that will grow with me, and work with me, and will be able to handle my site which relies heavily on php scripts accessing a MySQL db, like phpBB and phpNuke. As my site grows large, I'd even be willing to negotiate placing advertisements on my site in exchange for bandwidth and the like.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, not just from hosts, but from people who have gone through what I have gone through, and have found the right host.

Price is important, but not as important as the things mentioned above. If the above means I won't be able to find a host for 5/10/whatever bucks a month, so be it. (Don't get me wrong though, I don't want to get ripped off ;) )

well there are many good hosts out there..........

but what exactly are you after........if you want a hell of lot of bandwidth
for cheap, well then you will run into problems.....

but anyway out of your list, I would go with ecommercediscovery.......

another good host worth a try is venturesonline.com, I dont think that
you would have any problems with them....

i'll second the opinion on venturesonline.com, there are also many other good hosts, i'd suggest you look through the special offers forums and take a look at a couple of hosting directories
