I recently signed up for a Charge.Com merchant account, i was approved today and recieved a email from Linkpoint with my "store" number and a 1-800 number to call to get a temp password. So i set that up login and just see a POS page.

Well the issue i am having is i am having trouble getting any information such as,

CSI Account Number
Free Check Software (there website mentions)
Free Shopping Cart (there website mentions)
Monthly Limit Approved for
Plus other questions such as why i can only accept 3 CC types if i signed up for all 5.

However when i contact Charge.Com they tell me to contact CSI, when i contact CSI they say to contact Charge. Its like they just left me hanging to find this information on my own.

Anyone had any trouble with Charge.Com in the past ? Due they send any type of welcome kit or email ?

It is my understanding that Charge.com is a reseller for Cardservices Int'l (CSI).

So ultimately CSI would be the processor who is handling your merchant account but I guess there is some kind of confusion in that they are each trying to bounce you to the other.

Normally, most processors send out a welcome letter either via postal mail or e-mail so you should be getting something from them.

BTW, which card type is it that you don't have but which you want to get setup with? You may want to just call that company directly and then provide your processor with the merchant # that the 3rd party card brand assigns to you.

When i ask CSI to provide information such as Merchant Acct#, etc they ask me to contact Charge.Com. So i call Charge and then they tell me to call CSI, so i call CSI and they tell me to call Charge and request the information.

I thought i would get a welcome type of email before the linkpoint email but thats not the case.

It was American Express / Diners or JCB (dont remember), there was a mention of a $5 a month charge, so it should have been added. There was no application avaliable to download so i am stuck as all the information was filled in using there "web forms".

For Amex, you can go ahead and call Amex directly at 800-528-5200. Then you can do an application over the phone with them and usually they can issue a Merchant ID (MID) for Amex within about 10-15 minutes.

That is the card with the $5/monthly fee, 0.00% discount rate until you exceed $5,000 in Amex sales volume over a 12-month period.

You can then contact Charge.com or CSI (not even sure which at this point given your situation!) and ask them to "attach your new American Express merchant # to your account" and find out the process they require for you to have them do that.

Many merchant processors have a faxed form to send them, some will take it over the phone and others have an online interface that you can use.

Best of luck in resolving your situation and I hope the info above helps you out!

Unfortunately, we hear this a lot. Does charge.com have a phone number where you can talk to someone? if so - tell them this: Sign on to MAO and give me my merchant number

Since we are also a reseller of CSI, I know they can do this. Chances are they might not know what you are talking about, but keep going up the ladder. The MAO site will have that information you need.

Well after about 3 hours this morning i was finally able to get my Merchant Account #, i argued with a CSI REP for about 30 minutes and then after several calls i talk to what i guess was a manager, so he asks me for my info tax#/ss# and then finally gives me my merchant acct#.

Still dont know what my montly limit is since they told me they didnt have that information on hand.

I was finally able to get info from Charge.Com but it wasnt even worth my time,

Free E-Check Software
Looks like it was created in Windows 3.1, its Free however you must purchase checks from them in order to print.

Free Shopping Cart
Not really free, the free version only allows limited tasks. In order to charge shipping rates, etc you must upgrade ($29.95) a month.
Im already paying $29 for LinkPoint, and Charge wants $29 more for there Shopping Cart.

You should have completed the monthly limit on your application. If you were approved in 24-48 hours and they did not request anything else from you, more than likely it is $30,000 or less
