Im currently running on Cobalt 450mhz 256 ram and ive been overloaded almost 2-3 times every week
Here are some of the packages Im considering:
COMPAQ DL320
Pentium III 1 Ghz
512 RAM
40 GB/7200 RPM
w/ Ensim
129 Month/99 Setup
OR
Intel Celeron 1.3 GHZ
512 RAM
50 GB/7200 RPM
256k OBC- 100Mhz FSB
RedHat Linux 7.2
99 Month/99 Setup
OR
Intel Celeron 1.3 GHZ
512 RAM
60 GB/7200 RPM
256k OBC-100 Mhz FSB
RedHat Linux 7.1
99/Month/149 Setup
All of the above gets 400gb monthly transfer.
Please give me some suggestions. I am a pretty newbie, I can handle most of the cobalt stuff, but Im not a Linux guru.

The Compaq DL320 is $99 setup / $129 a month, not the other way around as you have it (unless you found a better deal than the one I'm looking at)
Even though I hate Compaq desktop's, I'd go with the Compaq server vs. the whitebox because I believe it may be more reliable and because the ram is upgradeable to 1 GB while the Celerons are limited to 512 MB.

thanx, typo :)
I was wondering if Ensims are pretty easy to use. Im not like a newbie who cant turn on a comp, but Im not really into the linux kinda stuff. Is it basically self explainatory or would I need to look in manuals and such?

You should familiarize yourself with both the Ensim forums at http://forums.rackshack.net and also the Ensim Forums at http://www.ensim.com/cgi-bin/ubbcgi/ultimate.cgi - do you have any special needs? Existing sites which need to be brought over from an existing configuration seamlessly?

It isn't the Celeron's that are limited to 512MB, it is the chipset - 815e that limits the amount of RAM, and in this case 512MB. It would support more, however you have to move away from the 815e chipset.

I also don't like celery processors. I haven't tried Ensim but I highly recommend Cpanel/Web Host Manager on your server if you plan to use it to sell hosting to customers.

Okay thanx for the feedback. I think Im about to buy the compaq package... I have one more question. Is the compaq based on linux? My friend told me how ensims are only for linux computers.

Yes, the Compaq's at RS use RH Linux.
