Hi guys,

Well we've all been following the New Orleans/Hurricane Katrina devastation path I'm certain, so I got to thinking, how we could put our resources to better use?

The idea I came up with is pretty simple, donate $50 or more to the Red Cross and Priority Colo will provide you with a free month (without setup fee) on any new Priority Colo dedicated server. Donations can be any amount you wish, can be made in any manner that you wish, and under any name you wish. You may feel free to naturally collect additional forms of benefit from these donations (Eg. tax credits), as they're not to be made in our name.

Given this, these are the available servers that you may donate to the Red Cross, and receive:

Qty Available: 3
- AMD XP 1700+
- 512MB DDR266 RAM (2GB Max)
- 40GB IDE HDD (4 HDD's Max)
- up to 8 Free IP's (Private VLAN or Shared Subnet)
- $64.95/mo, First month free (+no setup fee)

Qty Available: 3
- AMD XP 2200+
- 512MB DDR333 RAM (2GB Max)
- 60GB IDE HDD (4 HDD's Max)
- up to 8 Free IP's (Private VLAN or Shared Subnet)
- $84.95/mo, First month free (+no setup fee)

Qty Available: 4
- AMD64 3000+
- 512MB DDR400 RAM (2GB Max)
- 160GB SATA 7200 RPM, 8MB Seagate HDD (3 HDD's Max)

Qty Available: 4
- AMD XP Barton 3000+
- 512MB DDR400 RAM (2GB Max)
- 160GB SATA 7200 RPM, 8MB Seagate HDD (3 HDD's Max)

All servers include:
- 300GB/mo bandwidth

- MRTG Graphing
- Free Port Monitoring
- Free APC Access (remote reboot port)
- Your choice of OS/Version (Fedora/Redhat/CentOS/FreeBSD/Debian)
- Free IP SWIP (for customers who opt for Private VLAN, so your information shows up in the IP whois)
- Free custom partitions (that’s right, have your OS loaded your way)
- No strings attached, no contract to sign, no monkey business
- Up to 20GB of Free External RAID 5 Backup space, including free rotation,, setup, and management if using CPanel/WHM

Need an additional reason to pick Priority Colo? Consider the following:

- Premium BGP4 driven network consisting of NAC, Peer1, Teleglobe, T-Systems, and over 50 Private Peers on the Toronto Internet Exchange (TorIX)
- Located in 151 Front Street, Canada’s largest carrier hotel. Priority Colo Inc. has been selling value based dedicated servers within 151 Front, longer then any of our competition!
- Politically, and Geographically stable location
- The full package, quick transit, low latency, managed backups, reliable hardware, and friendly support, if you need that extra boost to help drive profitability, and value into your services, look no further.
- One time upgrade fee’s for hardware, and IP addresses, etc.
- Flexible payment options, including PayPal! :D
- Free warm fuzzy feeling that you may (or may not) receive as a result of donating to a good cause.
- Low entry cost, after all, you're getting the first month free, with no setup fee!

Nope, we run an IRC free network. We do not permit IRC connectivity, or IRCD hosting on our network.

Myles,

Any configurations with RAID available?
(Not for this specific deal - just too lazy to e-mail)

Indeed there are, we can do either software RAID 1, or hardware RAID 1 (3ware 8006-2LP controllers).

Either can be integrated to any of our packages for either a one time setup fee, or a monthly fee; and can be integrated in any format with this deal :).

$125 one time fee, or $15/mo to add a 3ware 8006-2LP true hardware RAID card onto any of those servers. Additional drive pricing varries depending on capacity and type, but runs along the same lines (granted the Dual opteron already has two).

An additional 2GB of DDR400 ECC/Registered (4GB Total) would run you $400 one time fee, or $50/mo. That would likely add a bit of delay into the server setup (just as a side note) as I'm fairly sure we dont have 4 x 1GB of idle DDR400 ECC/Reg. dimms hanging around (I know we have at least a dozen idle DDR400 ECC/Reg. chips, but hey're almost all 512MB dimms I believe).

I am glad to see that we have so many good people willing to help with this disaster relief.

On a side note guys, I picked the Red Cross as the charity of choice here because it seemed the most credible (after reading the United Way thread). However after reading about the Red Cross debit cards, I'm sadly disgusted with how the donation money is being used.

Given this, donations going to any of the major charities helping this cause will be accepted under this special deal, as I dont want to force people into a charity they're uncomfortable with (now seemingly with a good reason).

How much you donate, and what method you use (and as of my last post, exactly which major charity it goes to) is your call. All you need to do is ensure that you have some proof of donation that can be presented upon signup. As noted before, I specifically do not want donations made in our name (which in my eyes, should be a core benefit to the participant, as I have no intent of skimming tax benefits or whatnot, hence the full "perks" of making such donations fall to the participants).

visualfast, additional bandwidth starts at $0.75/GB and goes down from there depending on the commitment. Unfortunatly at the current time, we dont have any idle xeon/dual xeon servers available as part of this offer, although we may have one of our P4 - 3.0's straggling about.

Hi guys,

Well we're down to one XP1700+, 3 of the AMD64's (all of the barton's are still there), and the dual opteron may be gone by the end of the day also. The response has been decent, but short of what I expected and had hoped for (my goal had been $500 for the red cross, and unfortunatly we're far off thus far).

I would just like to clarify in regards to this offer, there is no contract to sign, and no obligation (obviously I dont expect people to abuse the free month, but I think most of the people here get my drift).

I will be extending this offer until the 20th of Sept, so come and get 'em while they're hot, and check out what you've been missing up in Canadia :D

I'd vouch for Myles service, it's seriously top notch, not to mention the network blend that PC has, combination of stability and performance.

If bandwidth issue is troubling you (you need a little more), I would suggest that you contact Myles about it and see what he can do for you, I'm sure he is kind enough to grant a little little more, after all, it's for charity and gateway to succeed in your business. Cheers!
