Ok, my domain is going to expire soon, and my current registrar (get this... Netsol  ) is expensive and I would like to transfer it to another registrar.

Who is a good registrar that doesnt do anything shady, such as holding it hostage or registering it to themselves, and is realitivly cheap, and easy to update?

I was looking into the following registrars, and if you know of some good ones post them for me...

Godaddy - Heard and read good things.
OpenSRS - Heard and read good things.

Thankfully I only have 1 domain, I was wanting to buy the net version but somebody took it last month  Oh, well.

Help please... I gotta get away from Netsol.... FAR away ;)

Thanks in advance :)

Network Solutions is like a black hole ... I've dealt with them for years ... I had the most incompetent guy on the phone the other day ... some of their actions are extremely unethical not to mention borderline criminal and in most cases just plain stupid

Hey ive heard that if you dont cancel your domain with go daddy a few days before it expires that they will automatically renew your account and charge you,is this true ??

If its close to expiration errrrrr....you better try to get it transferred YESTERDAY!!!
registrars require that the registration be in a current status to transfer. You can wait right until its due!
I highly recommend http://000domains.com
13.50 for the year, with a great easy interface for domain maintenance!
Go read their faq about transferring.....:D

Thanks for the replys. My domain will expire in 5 months, but I also need to find a registrar that can accept money orders.

I'm thinking very seriously about using godaddy, but they dont accept money orders... :(

Does anyone know of a good one that can accept money orders? Thanks again?

Hmm... I forgot about them. Do you know if they can accept money orders?

I emailed sales asking this (my first test on customer support ;) ) but I was wondering if I can get a response quicker off here.

*EDIT* stargate doesnt accept money orders. darn it. Fast response though :)

I'm still open to some suggestions for other registrars, just in case.

Gosh I was reading some posts from my search and fipping out on $5 increase, I can renew my domain at Netsol for $25  so $13 is a deal compared to what I would pay if I stayed with Netsol.

I've never did a domain transfer (registrars) so what should I expect? Will this affect my site's downtime, etc, etc? :D
