Whew. I wish I could read that post, because it's probably really interesting. But... how should I put this?

I've discovered that certain ISP in the lower southwestern USA don't work so hot to my system.

In fact ( since we need the laugh ) I was helping out a client at 4 am that was located in UT. we ran the drill, checking everything 2 times. I got so sick and tired that I called him on the phone ( we were IM'ing. so we starded working out the problem, just then it dawned on me. I asked him if he had AOL, Yep he said, get on aol then try to do everything.

sure enough it worked. his ISP has an entire c-block blacklisted from way way back. now it works.

want to test how weird your ip's can travel. try this

ping an ip that has a 2 digit ending xxx.xxx.xxx.ab
then ping the same ip but with a small change xxx.xxx.xxx.0ab

try with trace route also.

have fun
Mike

So, you don't read books? At least I used commas and periods, unlike some people on this board.

Anyway, turns out I was able to connect to some IP addresses on my server and not others because they were taking different routes, and one of the routers on one of the routes went bonkers and messed up only HTTP traffic. That's what caused the really weird problems.
