hi all

im trying to set the nameservers on one of my domains so that it points to my reseller account, but im getting this error.

Setting nameservers to ns1.mywebby.co.uk and ns2.mywebby.co.uk
Please wait...

Nameservers for thatwebby.com were not changed to
ns1.mywebby.co.uk and ns2.mywebby.co.uk
Error text: Nameserver ns1.mywebby.co.uk doesn't exists in the registry

i have noticed this is only happening with my .com names.

just trying to find out what it means.

cheers

Gareth

Welcome to WHT Gareth,

I am unable to ping your name server. I dont even see a registration record of ns1.mywebby.co.uk

Maybe you need to check if it has been even registered or not.

yeah sorry for that, i used those domain's as an rxample and should have really said that in my post.

Im with 123-reg and the nice people there have sorted out the problem for me.

With all non .uk domains, nameservers have to be added to the OpenSRS
register before they can be used. I have now added your specified
nameservers and you should be able to change them within the hour.

just thought i would post the solution just in case anyone else in the future comes to this forum looking for the same answer i did.

Yes, OpenSRS / Tucows CP is not that user friendly, it is kinda confusive.

Glad to know that your issue has been resolved. :)
