Angel78 04-10-2002, 02:14 PM 100GB Web Hosting - 30GB Transfer - 9.95/Year
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2010800998
:)
I did't know that there are tons of cheaters on e-bay hm
MCHost-Marc 04-10-2002, 02:38 PM 100 Gigabytes of Storage (webspace)
30 Gigabytes Data Transfer Per Month
 Compressing the content might work!! :D
appletreats 04-10-2002, 04:19 PM $9.95/YEAR? I should sign up... Use any more than 1MB bandwidth/month and they probably cut you off. :)
Angel78 04-10-2002, 05:03 PM I didnt know about these hosting auctions...do any of te "board" hosts have auctions on ebay?
fuzogen 04-11-2002, 03:47 PM I had always wondered about them. They seem sort of shady, but then again they may be a good deal. Most of them offer stupidly, ahem.. outrageosly low prices. Makes me wonder how they can make any money. And if they're offering so much space and bandwidth....
has anyone ever purchased one before? Lemme know.
bitserve 04-11-2002, 09:20 PM I can't even get to hungerhost.com.
50% of profits donated to help feed children? Does that mean that the owner has kids?
Under the list of two domains that they host, they list their own as one of them!
Only $100/GB for bandwidth overages? What a bargain!
I love this line: "We have a few happy customers."
Thank you for the laugh. :)
ToastyX 04-11-2002, 09:24 PM I don't think they even have a hard drive large enough to hold one account. ;)
iamdave 04-11-2002, 10:05 PM It looks like they use RS, but I haven't see any RS server with 100 gigs storage? What the hell are these people doing...?
CChard 04-11-2002, 10:26 PM I really like that other site they host. I bet it uses all 100GBs
MGCJerry 04-11-2002, 11:23 PM I went to their site, and I really like their silver plan (before it goes unlimited diskspace).
500 Gigabytes of Storage
17 Gigabytes of Data Transfer
Plesk™ Control Panel
500 Mail Boxes
500 Mail Redirects (aliases)
500 Mail Groups
500 Mail Auto Responders
$19.95 Per Quarter
I'd really love to know what kind of HD they use. This entire outfit looks shady and their site is just plain crappy. Either that or its a very cheap dedicated servers.
Too bad they cant offer unlimited bandwidth
Hmm... If there was a site about hosts that offer unlimited diskspace I'd list these people.
*sigh*
iamdave 04-11-2002, 11:33 PM Hosts like these need to be reported to the BBB. That is just ridiculous.
markblair 04-12-2002, 12:03 AM Umm, take a look at this...
Any access to other networks connected to Web-xperts.com must comply with the rules appropriate for those other networks.
This appears in the middle of their TOS. Looks like they forgot to change a section of the copied TOS. If you check out Web-xperts.com you will see a very similar site but there are no references to each other on either site. And Web-xperts.com doesn't say anything about donating to feed the children...hmm...
ToastyX 04-12-2002, 12:37 AM They figure nobody will actually use 500 GB of disk space. I could easily create a 500 GB "data" file. ;) Of course they'll probably get me for a terms of service violation. This is worse than saying unlimited. They're not just lying; they're blatantly lying.
bitserve 04-12-2002, 05:19 AM I was finally able to get to their FrontPage designed site. But then it went back unavailable after about 2 minutes. I think they have more downtime than uptime.
It does look like they are just resellers for web-xperts, who offers "unlimited".
mindboggle 04-12-2002, 04:17 PM Maybe they accidentally put GB instead of MB or don't know the difference..
Spock69 06-03-2002, 11:54 PM Well there some legit web sales on ebay that offer large amount of space and large bandwidth for low price but there are some scams.
I persoonaly in the past got a deal in the past on on webhosting that gave me 1000mb of space and unlimited bandwidth. I pay $13 a month for it.I told in advance it was going to be a file download site and did not care.In the past that was using over 30gb a month of traffic and always worked fine.
Well also in the past on ebay I bought 500mb site with 25gb of transfer for $30 a year.Well in this site I had a couple small downloads and used only 3 gb of transfer each month. After 2 months they emailed me telling me that I used 100gb of transfer in 3 hours. They would not tell me when it happened, or give me access to logs. They wanted me to send them $1500 but I nevered did. They never bothered to send me another after that, That company was based in the uk.
There are ads are that looks very suspicios such as http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1735869103 .I noticed in there feedback that have 154 positive feedback and all I looked at so far appear to selling webhosting and reseller plans for it. I wonder how they can see unlimited domains ,unlimited space, 25gb of tranfer per domain for around $20 a month and still make money.
Angel78 06-04-2002, 08:07 AM 500gb site with 25gb ?? 500 gb Hard disks wow, btw try searching the borads for unlimited :)
