Just a note to the community that our prices are tripling this coming Monday, April 15th. Our low cost right now is $4.95, $9.95, $14.95 but the basic account will be starting at $14.95, $24.95, $34.95. If you signup now you will get locked in at that price.

GearHost is a privately owned company that owns two offices and data center locations as well as the connections provided. Take a look at our plans by going to www.gearhost.com.

Well if your prices are tripling next week, you're going to have a hell of a time competing. Try another sales pitch as this ones pretty easy to see through.

pobox,

How is this a sales pitch? I'm just giving the word out that we are doing the price upgrade, no harm intended. How would we have a tough time competing. We host over 10,000 domains, own all of our own equipment, built our own control panel, not bad for the price we give.

Fair enough. But I don't see where your tripling of pricing will make you compeditive. I read it as a sales pitch, for if it wasn't, you would even bother with announcing that prices are tripling next week, and just offer your new prices for your plans at that time. Would seem to me that you would make a hell of alot more money if you weren't selling these deals quote on quote now, and just wait till next week when you plan to triple your pricing and then take orders to fill your servers. ;)

I don't think it is a sales pitch. If I were a person looking for hosting and had narrowed down gearhost as one of my choices, I would love to know the opportunity that their prices will go up pretty soon as that will help me make my decision. This is better than going to their site later and finding out their price has increased.

And so what if it is a sales pitch, it is an advertising forum. Most everything here is a sales pitch. Most people are not here doing community service - people are here for the most part looking to pitch their services.

True pobox we would make more money if we didn't let anyone know but its all about business, while yes we will loose money if someone signs up now as apposed to next week but there might be those out there looking for a low cost solution with a lot of ups, thus my post. Either case, take it as you see it but like Gurudev said some would rather know now then later.
