Hi,

I am interested in a domain that is registered but idle (no site, no reponse) and the owner has not replied to me at all (3 months ago i sent the email) have heard that it is possible to get the domain as it is not in use for a site or anything.

How would one go about trying to do this?

Thanks.

Maybe they are developing their domain.

I regularly ignore people knocking at my door, its my door I`ll answer it if I want to, it doesn`t mean they can come and take my house.

If that was the case most registered domains would be back in the pool.

Don`t waste your time on it, look for new pastures..

try some acquisition services like sedo.com's or afternic.com's they try all possible options available to contact the owner.

not sure about afternic but sedo does it pretty good

Digitalbanana - 75% domains are just parked or not in use. Some of them are really good and everyone has an eye on those domains. I dont know if SEDO / Afternic will be able to grab them for you or not but yeah they certainly will try to get in touch with the owner of the domain name.

Very few answer emails when they're not interested in selling. I've had some luck when I sent a 'written' letter through the postal service, usually replied via email :)
