Hi

I'm running small web site hosting

Always I receive emails from customers who needs to pay via CC

and my answer is "sorry we are not accepting credit card payment"

that way I lost lots of clients

So I decided to start the action and live in the risk with credit card world

I'm not US based (from ASIA OMAN)
I'm not registered company ( I don't have business record )
Less then $500 sales volume a month

I Know that all of you would telling me that 3PP is a good choice rather then merchant account

But if I use 2CO, as I know they will send money to me every 1st or 16th of every month

this will take long time and my money will not be safe

Can I open a bank account in USA without going there ??
Can it be done by 2CO or other 3PP ??
What is better, transferring money from USA bank to my local bank or from 2CO to my local bank ??

hop you understand my way of writing :)

I'm sure there are ways you can get a US account without being in the US. Thing is with your volume of sales it wouldn't really be that viable of an option (typically it'd cost a bit of money to do that).

I'd recommend doing some searching (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=) on WHT as this topic has been previously discussed at least a few times.

Best of luck to you in your business venture(s) with this. (Should you start accepting credit card payments I highly recomment the use of both a fraud scoring system and also phone verifying any orders to help minimize the risks of fraudulent payments, fact is in this day and age in the hosting industry you can _never_ be too careful anymore.)

I've found one thread that I recalled seeing earlier regarding this type of inquiry:

http://www.webhostingtalk.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=416021&highlight=US+bank+account+non+US

Also you may want to view the entire general search (http://www.webhostingtalk.com/search.php?s=&action=showresults&searchid=4120244&sortby=lastpost&sortorder=descending) done as well.

Hope this helps you with your qwest for card processing. I'd highly recommend you look at some non-US processors (example being chronopay which I believe is based out of Europe), while I can not actually recommend a specific one (haven't used any of those) I'd think you would be able to have more secure arrangements that way.

You might have a look at moneybookers.com as well. They seem to be pretty stable and safe - I've only used them for a few transactions.

Also, 2checkout is probably as safe as any 3pp, so I would recommend you have a look at them.

You may also want to look at ccavenue. I've never used them, but I also never heard anything bad about them. They're an Indian outfit, but several people have said good things.

Good Luck.

All the banks that I contacted when I inquired about opening a bank account in the US for a business, told me that I should come and visit one of their branches there.

A while ago, I have read here on WHT that somebody from UK went there, and even so his request was rejected based on the fact that he didn't have an address in the US where he performed his business (he had an address there, but he has been told they want to verify that his business "happens" there).

I have contacted VALIS, of whom I heard offered this service a while ago, but they told me they don't do it anymore.

So I don't know if it's possible for you that way (with a bank account)... But I wish you best of luck!

I thought it was next to impossible to get a US bank account without US residency - something to do with terrorist money laundering.

cannibal: same here..running a small hosting business from asia.
same like you, i am facing CC payment options. I am going for ccavenue. The only thing i dont like about them is, they will need you to email them a copy of your documents,(atm cards, bank books*frontpage only*, or somehting else to prove you are valid) in order to get your application approved fast.

After your application has been approved, you will still need to POSTAL them the documents, this time with a bank verification letter. In order to get pay out. Else you will only be able to accept payments on ur web,but you cant get the money to your local bank.
