Hi I currently bought a book named Redhat linux for Dummies.... Is that the correct book to invest if you plan on getting a raq3 or raq4?

No, it's not correct, as RaQs have a rather unique setup in terms of OS and other areas. The base OS *is* Linux; however Cobalt has its own individual setup, so it's not really gonna help you.

What areas were you looking at?

So its not going to help me at all? I just need the basic knowledge of setting up the raq... I don't want to rent the raq3 and be braindead on what to do... So what kind of books would you recommend me to purchase or is there any tutorials online?

-Networking For Dummies
-Linux in 10 minutes by Sams Publishing

What I find is that the basic stuff in any linux box is similar. So I'd say your redhat book is good enough if you just want to know the basics.

I'd also agree that for a RaQ the instruction manual an various FAQ's would be the best way to go.

The biggest reason this book won't help you is that RaQs don't run Redhat (as has been mentioned).

The thing is that I have seen that the admin acesses the control panel with a browser and telnet in for advanced admin features.... Telnet uses linux commands right?
