My requirements aren't too extreme. I need at least 50, preferably 100mb storage; 5gb min. transfer (would like another 5gb cushion), php, mysql, and my own cgi directory.
I currently run a ubb bulletin board but am thinking about switching to vbulletin. That's my only technical requirement.
I'd like to keep cost under $10.
any suggestions? I've been told to check out westhost.com, powweb.com, and insiderhosting.com. Any comments?
thanks!

Ventures Online also provide some great web hosting packages which should suit your needs, as well as a lot of smaller hosts that hang out here.
Bear in mind though that many hosts won't allow UBB, though vBulletin shouldn't be a problem. So contact them before signing up.

Well thank you for considering us to be your host. One thing that you need to know is that we also will not host UBB forums, as they have a tendancy to be very server intensive. We strongly suggest the move over to vbulletin as it is a great piece of software.

www.phpwebhosting.com
www.alwayswebhosting.com
are two i recommend highly. both are fast (alwaysweb is at rackshack, and phpweb is at dialtone), affordable, and have treated me very well in the past.
