I think I remember seeing on some other hosting web pages that there is a couple of organizations that if you qualify that you get some sort of seal of guarantee? Like a BBB for web hosts?

There are several organizations and companies though a "guarantee" isn't guaranteed. Just that they meet certain requirements and agree to condcut business in a certain manner.

There is an online BBB you can join. Not sure what the fees or requirements are. Many people I know who have been members dropped it. They said it was more a pain than a help.

This is just my opinion, and nothing else.

The BBB works because consumers know about it and if they see the seal they might find it reassuring.

There are other places that offer some sort of similar deal, but if the consumer is not generally aware of what the organization is, and what it does, then I think you are basically paying a good amount of money to put a link on your site (from the organization), and not much else.
