We are looking at partnering up with a publishing company to release a new publication in either newspaper like format or magazine format, for information related to the web hosting community.
We would be interested to know, what you would like to see in it, in the way of reviews, articles, tutorials, etc.
We would also like to know whether you feel you would be turned away from the publication if it was in a newspaper type fashion.
The publication would be monthly and would be free to the industry. Any feedback would be appreciated
Your feedback would be much appreciated.

While there are some magazines that have a hosting section I think most of them target topics and issues of the very big and well known host providers. There are few articles and topics that relate to the (relatively) smaller hosts and resellers.
I'd definitely prefer magazine format, cause I'm like that. Newspapers annoy me! Trying to unfold them and read them while their sprawled out everywhere and then trying to refold them, and it's just a mess! :P okay okay, so I'm a bit challenged, but I still prefer magazines. :D

I would love to find a monthly section on Value Added services that could easily be implemented for us small business hosts.
Also, a monthly right up on apache, exim, qmail, etc.... Not just a technical article on how it works, but pratical tips on how to administrate them more efficiently, features, etc...

I'll stick my mitt in the air for that one too. I've stumbles across some nifty added service type things lately here and there, but to see them listed regularly, with an indepth look at their services would be great.

More important than what we think is what your sponsors would think. My guess is that they would hate it, as they would have to create new advertisements just for this magazine.
I would like to see a regular column that's thematically like "Web Hosting for Dummies". Since your magazine is starting from scratch, I would like to see a column that starts from scratch. Most people recommend reselling access to get going -- how do you choose, what features do you look at, what problems will a typical reseller face, how do you market a hosting service, etc. Then, as your business grows, at what point does it become effective to kick your host out of the loop and own your own equipment? So this would be a regular column that would unfold over each issue, with the previous articles available in an online archive for subscribers. After a year or two, you could then reprint this column as a stand alone guide.

It wouldnt be a newspaper as in folded over it owuld still be in "flip the pages" magazine format but larger than a magazine and of course on newspaper paper. The only reason they may consider newspaper to begin with is cost wise.
I just got a phone call today asking if I would like to subscribe to this type of publication. Is this related to the phone call? Any one else here get called?
Newspaper like Computer Shopper? I think I would prefer the magazine format over newspaper type.
