I am having a slight problem with a .net domain name which is now getting a little silly!
The domain name PaulCollier{dot}net was hosted with Yahoo for the past x years th eowner is a professional snooker referee, if you watch the snooker on the telly you will know him as the referee who wears the black shirts and does the Premier League Snooker on SKY TV
We closed his account down with yahoo and on their advice asked my hosting company to initiate the transfer of the domain to them.
They got on with that straightaway and I soon recieved an Email saying blah blah blah blah PLease click this link to confirm you would like to transfer the domain, problem was there was no link to click!
So we waited a week and initiated the transfer again and yet again no link so I emailed the address this Email had come from but no reply and this was two weeks ago, my hosting company say there is nothing they can do so I have also Emailed eNom but dont even know if they got the Emai as I couldn't find an Email address on their site so I just sent it to support@enom.com
Can anyone advise me on what I need to do to get this name transferer?
Paul COllier is getting very annoyed at this as his website was down over The Northern Ireland Trophy last month and he has the Premiership Snooker comp coming up and these are the times he gets most of his hits adn makes most of his money as he sells refereeing equiptment through his site.
Regards
Kevin

I know the man! And I completely understand his irritation when seeing "Site Temporarily Disabled" sign all over the page.
I'm not Yahoo customer, so I can't tell you with 100% accuracy, however I'm not a newbie on these forums and there were quite few rumours that it's impossible to transfer away from Yahoo. Especcially when they started their 1.99 per domain special.
Hope somebody else will be able to help you more.
Good luck and my deepest respect for the man.

Sorry, but it looks like I wasn't right here - they DO allow transfers away...

Yeah we have gone through all of this with them but they say they can't start the transfer my hosting company has to start it which they have tryed, I get the Email saying and I quote;
STANDARDIZED FORM OF AUTHORIZATION
DOMAIN NAME TRANSFER - Initial Authorization for Registrar Transfer
Attention: Paul Collier
Re: Transfer of PAULCOLLIER.NET
eNom, Inc. has received a request from Paul Collier on 22 Aug 2005 for us to become the new registrar of record.
You have received this message because you are listed as the Registered Name Holder or Administrative contact for this domain name in the WHOIS database.
Please read the following important information about transferring your domain name:
* You must agree to enter into a new Registration Agreement with us. You can review the full terms and conditions of the Agreement at
* Once you have entered into the Agreement, the transfer will take place within five (5) calendar days unless the current registrar of record denies the request.
* Once a transfer takes place, you will not be able to transfer to another registrar for 60 days, apart from a transfer back to the original registrar, in cases where both registrars so agree or where a decision in the dispute resolution process so directs.
If you WISH TO PROCEED with the transfer, you must respond to this message by using the following URL (note if you do not respond by 29 Aug 2005, PAULCOLLIER.NET will not be transferred to us):
YOU MUST CLICK THIS LINK TO CONTINUE THE TRANSFER PROCESS
If you DO NOT WANT the transfer to proceed, then don't respond to this message.
Now can you see any link in that Email for me to click and this is the second Email from them as this is the second attempt at trying to transfer this domain, my hosting company says they will try a third time if I wish but not a forth.

Hm... Weird... I strongly suspect this intended to be HTML mail, but your email software doesn't recognise the format (or doesn't recognise it correctly). It must sound like crazy idea, but this is the only way I can explain what's happening.
You've got this email directly from enom or forwarded from your host? If it's forwarded then there's one more place to lose formatting...
Weird, weird...

You can transfer the site to a new webhost without transferring the domain registration. It's 2 separate operations and they shouldn't be done at the same time.
To get his website back up quickly just go into your domain control panel at Yahoo and change the name servers or change domain forwarding to point to the site at the new webhost. This should make his site live again and recieving traffic within 5 minutes- 1 hour.
Once that is done you can focus on changing registrars. But you don't have to change registrars (Yahoo to Enom) unless you are close to the expiry date and don't want to renew.

The account over at Yahoo has been canceled so we no longer have access to the control panel and to have the ability to transfer nameservers Yahoo want to charge around $10 a month for this option which is stupid as this should be a simple 1 2 3 process for transfering a domain.
One good thing is the other referees site I designed has got increased hits :-) pro snooker ref {dot} co {dot} uk
On the HTML formatted side, this is not somthing I thought of I will turn my ticket system off immediatly and revert to using outlook express. I'll send an Email over to my hosting company and ask them to initiate the transfer again.
Thanks for all of your help.

The domain is registered thru 2006 at Melbourne (Yahoo) so there must be some way to control the domain info. Try the yahoo Tech contact in the domains Whois.
You could also try transfering to a different registrar (ie namechaep) instead of to enom.
