The closest topic was four months ago about a no-points debate forum, so I thought this idea had a slight chance.
I say a News forum be set up. It would have the same rules as the lounge, just separated from it. If more topics on an issue can be posted, it allows for a wider range of discussion, and can limit the amount of 100+ posts threads. Also the larger threads end up turning into flame wars partly because anyone who wants to comment needs to read 15 pages of text, where with multiple threads, it could be cut down to 2 or 3 pages of reading.
