Does anyone have contact information for any of the senior management in Network Solutions / Verisign (email address / phone #)? I have a large complaint to make.

And does anyone have an email address (preferably - I get bored of more than 1 hour on hold when calling them) of someone who will respond to my query with Netsol?

Thanks
Matt

I really don't much like netsol, coz i find it hard to transfer domains around with their Mail-From feature and also because it's almost impossible to transfer a domain if you don't have access to the email address that you registered the domain with initially.

So I'd rather go with one of the cheaper registrars and those are much easier to transfer domains.

But if it's domain problems you're having, just transfer your domain elsewhere. I find it difficult to talk to them (tried through chat) and they're impossible!

It's easy to transfer your domain out anyway.

Currently I'm using directnic.com, totalnic.net and godaddy.com (I like to diversify). It's easy to modify nameservers too with these registrars.

It's slightly more serious than just moving a domain.

I personally hate Netsol and Verisign.

Matt,

Welcome to the club!

I try not to hate in general but it is difficult with netsol.

I was just wondering what your beef with Network Solutions was. I got tired of their lame email confromation BS and moved to Register.Com and have had no problems at all.

i used to have no problems at all with them. but, recently, they've been a pain in the ass.

i found a number on their website and called and got right through and the guy on the other end was very helpful (wanted to transfer a domain, but no longer had the email address that it was registered with).

but yeah. i'm transferring all my domains to godaddy in a few months.....

Stay away from Netsol, as far as you can.:D

Anyway had any success transferring a domain out of there? I've given up now and have to refuse requests to transfer domains if they are hosted there. One client is still waiting for a nameserver change after 3 months. He had to buy the .net and use that instead as NetSol basically killed the .com.

Well, a little more on our problem (no doubt some will find it funny, its not quite so funny for the clients it affects  )

We always register our nameservers through Tucows, and after a couple of weeks, Netsol normally ads them to their database without our intervention.

However, this time, Netsol (being stupid as they are - they employ monkeys, I'm sure...), have managed to get the IPs for our nameservers wrong. I have no idea how they have, but it means for any client who has a domain with Netsol, they have problems accessing it via the domain because its pointing to some non existant nameservers.

I have contacted Netsol time and time again, but they don't respond via email, nor do they pick up the phone....

Sigh.....

That's being charitable.

I don't know what number you have, but this one always works for me: 1-800-779-1710.

I have a 50% success rate. The trick is -- when you do manage get them on the phone -- you have to ask NetSol to "attach" your nameservers to your customers' domains. (you can't register nameservers there if your domain is with Tucows.) I was able to accomplish this over the phone a few times, but the last time they hung up on me when I went ballistic. (What a blissfull catharsis!) And no, they would *not* let me talk to a supervisor when I demanded to do so.

Keep trying and you just might get a sympathetic rep.

Exactly the same problem as me. I have the name servers set-up with OpenSRS yet a customer wants to transfer the domain to them can not as NetSol insist the Name Servers are added to their database using the mail-from crap. Been waiting a week after the request and no joy.

The customer says they have contacted NetSol who have told him that it is our fault and we have not set-up the NS correctly. Therefore the customer believes we are being awkward!

I too hate NetSol

Andy.

I have phoned them too many times - I think they've only answered once or twice within the 20 minute threshold.

One of the people I spoke to barely spoke English - you can imagine the fun I had spelling out nameservers 'n' 'a' 'm' 'e'....
The other person disappeared for a few minutes to try something, the few minutes turned into his coffee break, or maybe he went home, cause I waited a while but he never got back to me....

Every time I have to call them... I get through right away, the person is really polite, helpful, and organized.

But, once off the phone... I might as well forget I have called because nothing gets done. LOL

The last call I had was about an expired domain name. They promised to delete it immediately.... but as we sit here the domain is still on hold.

They are thugs, I tell you. And I've been telling my customers that for years.

Here's my contribution to the war against registrar terrorism:

I will post an ad from any OpenSRS reseller (or similar) for free on my site and on my help desk or forums. Seriously. PM me.

Make a complaint here:
http://www.internic.net/cgi/registrars/problem-report.cgi

I have the same issue, where the IPs for my nameservers are showing up with the old IPs I no longer use, the old IPs only show up with NSI not any other registrar. I've tried numerous ways to get NSI to change them, but they won't. One employee told me that the IPs don't really matter. That the nameserver will be looked up per the global registry first, find the correct IPs for the nameservers and everything should work that way. I still have the old IPs on my server.. so I still don't know if what NSI told me is a load of crap. The day the IPs are removed from my server.. I guess that is when I will know since all hell will break loose with my clients who are regitered with NSI. :(

I was told the same thing. NetSol has a pair of my nameservers recorded with two different sets of IP's (depending upon which customer you run WHOIS against) and it doesn't seem to affect anything. It's still very bad form and I can't help thinking that it's a disaster waiting to happen.

I don't think that's correct - Netsol has their own seperate database, they are no doubt only looking up the record in that one, and not the global... well the domains registered with netsol, with the incorrect nameservers, don't resolve to our nameservers, so I presume this is the case.

I'll start writing my complaint...

go to netsol.com and click "contact us". there's many diff. forms. pick the one for support. they say they'll get to you within 24 hours, though it's more like 72. but then again, i'm not even a customer of theirs. you might get a live person that way. give it a shot. :)

Matt Yeah, I tried to explain to the person I talked to that they have their own seperate database... I explained that when I got my old IPs in there it was for the fact that my clients who were registered with them couldn't get my nameservers to work unless they were somewhere in the NSI database. The employee looked and saw that my domain had never been registered with NSI and believed me and talked to someone else that told about the nameserver only being checked on and not the IPs.

If they were lying then I'm going to be in for a really huge headache. I found out about 2 months ago that other registrars are using the NSI database too. For example, http://www.nunames.nu also shows my old IPs and not the new ones. I've got a handful of .nu clients and if what NSI says is fake I'm going to have a hard time figuring out what to do and hunting down other registrars like this. They can be really hard headed... sending an e-mail to .nu went nowhere. They responded that they can't change that info, I have to change it with my registrar... well, D'OI! argh.. registrars are a pain in the @$$ :bawling:

----
I also found out .tv domains use the NSI registry... http://www.tv - they are a VeriSign company afterall too

Try to chat, be patient then insist on what you want....
