I suggest you look at this site:

The Linux Documentation Project (http://www.linuxfaq.com/LDP/)

Running Linux (http://dealspree.com/article.php?sid=520) is $6.98... It's a pretty good deal on the latest edition, and you get free shipping when you order 2 items...

Just got mine in the mail the other day :D
Great resource!

Order it with something cheap like audio tapes for Sun Tzu's Art of War (like 2 bucks) so everything is about $9 including shipping.

I'm no linux guru and this book was an excellent purchase. It covers a lot of stuff from the history of linux to the installation and basic commands, etc. The thing I like about it is that you can just read the chapters you're interested in i.e. you can skip the stuff on Samba and go to the chapters on security info and still absorb alot. It's a good resource for people of all different levels.
