Hi Guys,

I was just wondering...I am getting a server soon, and have been told you can fully change the RAQ panel by editing the graphics, etc.

Is the panel just a set of html code with pics, and if so, is anyone able to email a zip or something to me including all the panel files?

Its just so that I can have a look at how the panel works, and try making my own panel before I get the server!

thanks in advance!

I think, all you can do is, change the control panel pics, and save them by the same name in the raq image directory. I dun think you can do anything else.

Ok, the thing I noticed on the demo page is that all of the left menu, and the top bar consist of images to make up the page...if I can get hole of these to edit them that would be great...

Are the demo ones going to be the same filenames etc if I get the ones off the cobolt site?

Thanks a lot

Matt

Their are templates on a raq for the admin panel for yuor customers. I once tried to change them, but without any succes.

It is veryy hard, because the raq uses all kind of weird javascripts etc. THough I'm going to try it one more time.

If I succeed I'll tell ya

Why not visit the cobalt site ( http://www.cobalt.com ) .... And save the pages and play with the graphics?.

You can add more items to the top and left frames of the control panels, though the real problem is that the control panels are static, so lets say that you setup 50 sites already, then decide to change the control panel, well, too late, those 50 sites wont change unless you change them all manually.

The other problem is when you want to make changes later on, you'll have to change everyones control panel since what happens (as far as I know), is you setup a new site, and the raq takes a set of stock control panel pages and puts them into a directory for that sites admin, they are never updated so everythign is manual.

Raq's are a good deal and easy to use until you need to customize them in this regard, then it's a lot more work then it should be.

/etc/skel/group/en_US/web/index.html

graphics for above are stored here (I believe):

/usr/admserv/html/.cobalt/images/

Hey, Just to warn you, I tried to change the icons as well and the next time I called up Cobalt Networks for support for my mail server, they told me that my support was void since I had been fooling aroudn with these images. It was the first day I had called also, so it kinda sucked. I had to make it look as though I never installed these.

Just a warning

Jim

If you are smart you make a backup of the images and restore them when you call to Cobalt.

Once you just make it seem that you never installed them, its fine. The Cobalt Support people dont notice it if you have made it so that its not obvious.
