I am with a reseller account that comes with Plesk. I want your suggestions and help for the following:

- Going to use the 2checkout payment processing, need to know if there is any PHP based scripts FORM that can handle the subscription part, and will route the url to the 2checkout payment form.

- Any account management that can work with Plesk to manage my subscribers and their fee, expiry, plan etc.,

Thanks

2checkout.com provides shopping cart software for handling that stuff, don't they?

Hi,

Plesk won't integrate with any payment gateway software. You have to create your own sign up forms and link them to your CC processor.

Actually, there are a few commercial scripts that integrate with Plesk and will do automatic signups. But they are pricey and are for the server administrators.

Laurence,

Can you name me some billing software which integrate plesk?
I'm in the middle of looking for one.

Thanks
Joe

I talked to Tony from http://dreamcost.com and he said that he was in talk with Plesk to integrate Dreamcost' billing software with Plesk. But I did not follow up after that. It was about 6 months ago.

Reyner,

Wasn't there some guy that posted on the Plesk forum with some info about a script he developed that did auto sign ups and integrated with any payment gateway? He said he would personally custom install the scripts on the server for an arm and half a leg.......

Just so you know, HostAdmin (our billing solution) does support automatic domain provisioning in Plesk. (As well as CPanel/WHM and Ensim)

As of yesterday, we also support 2checkout.com, as well as a long list of nearly 30 other gateways.

HostAdmin also supports domain registrations via interfaces with 5 registrars.

Hello Dreamcost/HostAdmin-

The original poster is a reseller on a Plesk system though. Does your system work with resellers?

I only ask because I have been looking for something like this, all seem to need root/admin access and it totally NOT for resellers.

One I am testing now is ClientExec. It is a billing/ticketing software, nicely laid out and plenty complicated. It does not interface with Plesk though, therefore doesn't do domain setup or activations.

If your system does do that for non-root, non-admin Plesk reseller accounts, you will have my credit card payment today. :)

WildCard,

Our current Plesk Integration module does require root access, the new jobs are stored and run every few minutes by a root cron job.

I do not know how established you are, and if you would consider using something other than Plesk, but if you are, I recommend that you look into CPanel/WHM. The reason I suggest this is because we DO support CPanel reseller accounts, CPanel has a API that we interface with, and it does not require root access.

But be sure to find a reseller still using CPanel 5, as they seem to have changed their API in v6, and it must now be run as root and not a reseller. I have contacted them on this, but they have not responded... :(

Also, within the near future (read 2-3 months) we hope to implement a new Plesk Integration module that can bypass the root plesk scenario. The same applies for Ensim, which also requires root access at this time.

I hope this has been of some help.

Definately good information Mr Landis. Most informative post regarding the subject I have seen.

One small question though- regarding your new plesk integration module, would I be right in assuming you are making that for version 5 plesk, or will that include versions 2.5 as well?

My host presently has Plesk and Ensim reseller servers, no cpanel at this time.

Modernbill makes it mandatory that you have root access to the server and admin control of your plesk database, right? Not really what the original poster was asking about, given that they don't have root access and are a plesk reseller.

Yes, it is built specificly for Plesk 5, but from my reading of the plesk 2.5 api documentation, it appears that their command line interface to the API has not changed between versions 2.5 and 5.

This leads me to believe that it will work on version 2.5 just as well.

Thanks!

One thing I forgot to mention...

Since our Plesk and Ensim modules do require root access to configure & run, this makes them unsuitable for most resellers.

However, note that I said 'most resellers', because there is a way around this. I will explain:

The only thing that requires root is the creation of a crontab job during the initial setup process. So, if you have a good relationship with your provider, you can ask them if they will create this crontab job for you, as root. If the answer is 'yes', then you have just worked around the root access problem.

Unlike Modernbill, HostAdmin does not require root access to MySQL. So your host would not have to provide you with any login information to plug into the script... they simply create the crontab job and you are in business.

Hope this helps.

Sorry I'm going off-topic here :(

I've been tossing around using either Modernbill or HostAdmin

The only thing that's buggy is the modules. We run all 3 that you provide, as well as 2 other control panels, one of them being windows based. Modernbill doesn't offer support for those either, but atleast Ensim, Plesk, and CPanel/WHM are included. The others we can handle manually no problem.

Is there a way to order all of them, and set a lease to own? I've look all over your site, and I haven't recieved word. I would love to use your software, it is very easy to use, and more user-friendly than Modernbill, since it's all bulky. Thank you :)

Serin,

It would probably be best to continue this discussion via phone or email since it is getting a little off topic.

We do not offer a lease option, but we do offer discounts if you purchase more than 2 modules.

I will be happy to discuss this with you, please PM or email me and we can continue the discussion via phone or email.

We want to add more support for those of you who are resellers with a provider such as Hostopia, who have their own proprietary provisioning API.

I would be interested in hearing your feedback on this, as well as getting an idea the amount of demand there would be for this feature.

The only provider I am aware of at this time who has their own propriatary API is Hostopia, but please suggest any others I am not aware of.

Thanks!

I would like to hear more about this as I am always interested in ways of improving our customer's efficiency and sales effectiveness.

thanks,

Franc,

Our software manages the billing for hosting plans and domain registrations, and integrates with Plesk. CPanel, and Ensim for automatic account provisioning.

We would be interested in creating the hooks in our software to automate the account provisioning for Hostopia, as I understand you have a propriatary API for your services.

In the end, your clients would save a lot of time because they would no longer need to re-enter customer data, as the accounts would be setup automatically.

I would like to continue this discussion privately, you can contact me via email or PM me with your contact info.
