I have seen the option on several offers I have. What benefits does it give?

If you need anonymous FTP and/or your own SSL certification, a dedicated IP is required. Otherwise, it's really not something to worry about.

We really need a FAQ or at least make this a sticky because this gets asked like every week.

Maybe we should make the search button twice as large and make it a flash animation

Actually that might be a good idea! Maybe if it was somehow highlighted to draw attention, for example by making it a different color? While I can guarantee you that some people will STILL manage to miss it even if you make it 10 times larger, highlighting it would certainly help (at the moment, it's easy to miss especially if you haven't been here before).

How about an ad for the search feature at the top? :D

I did attempt to search. Unfortunately using the word "IP" has to few digits and the search is denied. Search for "dedicated" brings up thousands of, yup you guessed it, dedicated servers. Not quite what I need.

I do think that this has been asked two million times now.

Hi hockeytalk. I was just kidding :) A search for "dedicated address" would have shown you some threads regarding this issue, but it's okay :P
