I have a reseller account which uses Helm and I am at lost on how to create an account that doesnt' have a domain name yet. On Unix/Cpanel the url is simple enough. But on a windows system, how does it work? I have the site here:

E:\websites\mydomain.com\wwwroot\

But since, mydomain.com isn't pointing to this IP yet, what kind of url do I use so that the user can start seeing his site? Thanks in advance.

You use a program called Helm Extensions from http://www.helmextensions.com that gives you ability to have Temporary URL functionality.

If your host doesn't have this program than ask them not to be cheap and get it because its very useful.

There is no other way.

You can also go into IIS and create a virtual directory as well to point to E:\websites\mydomain.com\wwwroot\

Yep, I can't access IIS. Thanks for the Temporary URL tip, I hava already mailed my provider requesting for Helm Extensions. Don't know how he'll respond. Currently my hosting provider showed a very lenghty way of getting it to work, but I think Temporary URL would be cool. Thanks. :)

You setup a domain alias using a domain that's already on the same name servers. For example, if you have yourcompany.com hosted on the same name servers as the domain you want to access, configure an alias called newsite.yourcompany.com on the new site. Then use http://www.newsite.yourcompany.com and ftp.newsite.yourcompany.com, etc.

Ah sorry - I saw that but it did not sink in. Hopefully he will be able to help you out or at least set it up thru IIS for you.
